Battle Of The Bands
Just entered the Battle of the Bands contest. I don't actually expect to win but if by doing this, I can get my messeges out to a couple more people who may possibly share it with a couple more people then it is all worthwhile. I don't believe the recording has the best quality, but then again, I'm doing this on my PC with no recording training and no formal music lessons. I think that it is important to get some positive vibes out to the youth and add my 2 cents of peace & love to the world. If you could possibly let others know about my music it is greatly appreciated and if you have an opinion on what you think of this my music, please feel free to send me a note. I'm not so big to no respond to you.

What Am I All About?
Someone has asked me what makes me think my music is any different than any other native artist out there. I have hosted a Native radio show called Smoke Signals for friend/producers Dan and Mary Lou Smoke on CHRW 94.9FM over that last 4-5 years and have been exposed to a great deal of music. There is so much talent from my Native brothers and sisters that it is hard to believe. The style I listen to most is Blues, Rock and Hip Hop. Hip Hop, in particular, has a great hardcore, raise your fist and yell sound that pumps your adrenaline. But at the same time, a majority of the rap/hip hop music is very similar to the afro-american mentality in that it is a way of showing how pissed we are at the white man and what he's done to us and to our planet. So, my answer has to be my messege. I love the sound of hip hop and I love the sound of rock, but I'm no good at either one, I will be the first to admit that. At the same time, I think that it is important to start giving our youth something to listen to that is not going to prep them to become an angrier generation and perpetuating racism in our culture. The First Nations people have always been giving and sharing while at the same time we have been extremely strong, adaptable and resilient. We are survivors and that is in our blood. As such, we need to continue teaching our children our culture and our traditions so that they can be proud of who they are and where they come from. My music promotes an ending of racism, an ending of social injustices, and beginning of exposing corrupt governments, and spreading of positive knowledge. That makes me different and that makes it "Native music with a new attitude". that makes it worth listening to and that's what I am all about.
