What have I been up to?
I find myself sleepless at 6am on some weekday, of which I know not its name. I've been stuck visiting family in Tampa for a bit. Somehow I ended up here, after chatting with dear Xzar about isound a tad as I have nothing else to do.
Isound always feels weird now, as I have changed so much since I was the little brat ranting on about things she only knew about half of.
So what have I been up to? I've moved from Tampa to Gainesville, where I attend, UF. The professors are amazing so please excuse the fact that they pride themeselves on sports over all things. Yes, it makes for a hellish town.
I discovered Crocidile Club, and have made many new contacts through them. (Possibly meeting James from Deadfly next week?)
Journeyed through abandoned theatres...
Haunted graveyards with Gainesvilles version of The Lost Boys...
Annnd other such activities. Torrid relationships since my last stable one amid admiring crushes on the people I once looked up to over the internet before meeting them. Assymilation to the fashions of my friends, and then finding more of my own spirit in things. I've managed to keep a 3.9 GPA as a Sophomore, closing in on Junior in college and consider some of my previous professors to be some of my closest friends. I'm a lot less bitchy and particular about music and other people's tastes by the way......

Retirement
Ah the things the future doth hold. Isound really won't be one of them for me though.
Between three jobs, catching up with old friends for the last time, and working on projects over the summer I won't have time. And in college making enough money to eat and keep rent will take up all my time not spent studying or attending concerts and parties. Isound is probably around 2064 on the priority list...and its simply not the same without the rest of the fizzled gang.
Hence I announce my retirement. I'm leaving my profile up for kicks and might even drop in on you once in a while but I'll be on even less than recently...if thats possible.
If you want to keep in touch at all my AIM is spidersqueezer or you can haunt me at livejournal on placeboxeffect or gothlyricshare. Even myspace if I bother getting on.
I've been signing the yearbooks of people I've known even less than most of you all day so I figure I'll add a little yearbook signing sort of ending message to tie things up with you all.
I want to thank you all for the intersting virtual ride which was isound while it lasted. Adrian...I'll still be hearing from you for a while, but I shall miss our banter among such vile subjects as those on the MM board. Xzar you are an amazing kid, I wish more people could share your morals and exquisite taste in music...and good luck with whatever you have going on with Clandy. Insertname I shall miss your pertinent remarks and wit...stay cute and watch out for your brother ;-). MusicMan, I think you've grown a lot over time and I always smile despite my mood (or the fact a customer has used a pair of jeans as toilet paper in the dressing room) when "Runaway Train" plays at JC Penny at 8:05 nightly. Saint, keep the torch lit...at least for a while, can't let the Mansonites reclaim their territory, you represent the second generation of elitism. LosersAlwaysWin, you have a long way to go but you're better off than a lot of kids your age (yes, one day you will understand this age thing!). Drlunk, good luck with your musical endeavours and I will attempt to contact you on occasion here if either of us ever get on. Lakini, good luck with Din Glorious; you are a god to elitists all over the interntet. And to all of those I left out, I've probably already forotten you or any impact you ever had on me at little or no loss, but have a great life anyway.

A merry hallows eve to you all darlings. I really should be at DDF right now, but I'm grounded from leaving my house, much less the state. Tisk-tisk.
I do hope you enjoy vandalizing, concert-going, shooting small children with paint balls, being the second oldest trick-or-treaters on the block (besides that damned group of 28 year old crackheads with the one baby that all want candy) or whatever other activities you participate in on this, a most pointless of holidays.

This place is an 80's/90's video orgasm. And you can get video codes. Anything from Oingo Boingo to Sisters of Mercy. Morrissey. Bauhaus. Clan of Xymox. Alien Sex Fiend. The Smiths. The list goes on.
Sadly they don't work on isound profiles, I already tried. But if you have a myspace or Xanga the codes are handy dandy. And other than that you can see good videos without watching VH1 classic for hours waiting for something....

Concerts
Tis the time for new releases and reunion tours . Its like an orgy of great concerts out there guys. I was writing an article for the paper about that...and what a fucking orgy (my editor wanted it because of the Rolling Stones, but boy will she be pissed when RS gets a smaller pragraph than Bauhaus &DDF hehe). I didnt even know the Adicts were coming
THE ADICTS original lineup and all are coming to my favourite loacl venue!! Holy shit.
After that there is Bauhaus, Alice Cooper and a bunch of obscure bands you probably haven't heard of.
Plus @ DDFIII The Naked & the Dead abd members of Sex Gang Children will be present.

Dyed my hair back to its normal colour (hence the new profile pic). Don't I look thrilled? Yep, thats about how my hair and I are getting along right now. Kiddies, Don't dye your hair more than 10 times a year.
Anyway. Pretaining to music. I had heard about the MCR/Used remake of under pressure, but I'd been able to escape it till today. (Mistaking it at first in the begining for a remake of the Vanilla Ice song, because the intro sounded wrong and it was on some pop rock station). I am quite disturbed now. That poor song. Ick. I wonder what Bowie thinks of it.

I am not liking this whole replacement of our bios with these shitty articles. Some of the ones of mine they got rid of were not that great, but my Neutral Milk Hotel bio kicked ass compared to that pice of shit they put up.
Plusss we can't add people. Somehow within adding 600,000 bands they have still overlooked half of my favourites. And I can't let them know either.
Whatever I guess. I'm usually too lazy to write bio's anyway. People can just keep their shitty music and bios...

Okay if you like goth, post-punk, new-wave, death-rock, industrial or related genres, you have to check out the new LJ community GothMusicShare: http://www.livejournal.com/users/gothmusicshare/
I myself have been introduced to a few good bands I had not heard of. And its great for kids just getting into the genre, or lazy people that don't feel like buying cds or searching for rare ep's etc. Admitidly, some of the stuff is shit because these Darkwave girls keep posting things like TBM and Switchblade Symphony. But you'll find everything from classics like Siouxsie and The Mission, to the lesser known stuff like Lucrate Milk and Danse Society. New-wave/Post-Punk like The Bolshoi, Comsat Angels, and Oingo Boingo. Plus a lot of crazy oddball stuff. I'd really suggest it for all the numetal kids who have an interst in real goth (though I guarentee you won't like all of it, you'll find stuff you do). And more savvy people too, there are some good mp3s there for those of us who can't go out and buy every obscure post-punk CD on earth but likes variety....

TV
First off I hate TV. And this is not going to be a pretty or organized rant either, I am blowing out of my ass right now.
I happen to be watching "Sabertooth Island" on SciFi right now. (I watch the 1am movie most saturdays when I am not out, blame it on watching MST3K as a kid). Anyway the point is, there is a girl with crimped black hair who is wearing clothes that might not even be from Hot Topic, its looking more like the dark stuff from Forever 21. Shes got a decent tan, so they're not even going to bother trying to make her pale, but the "jock" stereotype guy keeps calling her GOTH. (Which she continues to encourage by hissing and such)
I am thinking this is part of what is contributing to these moronic children thinking they are goth, and fucking up its name. They probably are not watching SciFi at 1am (hell, who is besides myself?) but think that girl on NCIS with all her shitty EMB/Darkwave music and claiming to sleep in a coffin, directly proclaiming herself goth. There is all kind of shit like that.
Why the fuck are they doing this? Is it profitable to have "goth" stereotypes? Are little kids going to watch NCIS or Made-for-TV-movies because of these "goths"? Are the writers just that stupid?
:sigh: I don't know. But how are we supposed to convince these kids they are not goth when Rolling Stone is praising Ville Valo's GOTHIC Vocals, The NY Times bragging about Anne Rice's GOTHIC vampire tales, and popular TV is portraying GOTH as Hot Topic kids that hiss?
I'm about fucking done with that word no matter how its used.

Back
Hmmm missing a few weeks at isound is like going into a coma for 2 years and waking up in a different dimension.
I'm back but only for a week unless I can do anything about that.
Anyway, most of NYs music scenes seem to go further down every time I return. I always think I'm going to get a break from this "hardcore" infested suburbia, but its just as bad up there. No offense to anyone up there that may be good, I just really have not seen you.
Ahhhhhh.
If anyone cares, I did well enough in my competitions to get a grant to take photos in South America next summer. So I guess thats pretty cool. Well it is to me :-p Okay Angela, simmer down this is not a livejournal, its a music blog, shut up.
Going to the Combichrist concert to make fun of them on the 9th. If anyone else gets a chance to, they really should too, they sound quite terrible. And talk about the rape of Depeche Mode songs, sheesh. I mean, how did these kids get on the same label as Bauhaus and Clan of Xymox??

You Know You Miss Me
Actually I'm sure you don't. I'm rather annoying. Progressivly so preportionate to the time I spend on this site. But at the moment (and until next week) I'm in New York and don't have access to the internet that often. (Not to mention there are much better things to do than sit on the computer all night...unlike in the suburbs of tampa under the guard of my mother ehh) So obviously I have not been here much. And I probably won't be until Mid July.
If you are an upset numetal kid that I have insulted and you would like to insult me back or attempt to defend yourself, please send relplies in the isound messenger because I probably won't be back to your board for weeks.
If you are someone I enjoy talking with on assorted boards, I suppose you'll just have to live without the utter greatness that is I for a little longer ;-)

If I read another kid's profile that states under the favourite book section, not just blankness, but something along the lines of "I DoN' ReAd!" or "I hate books" or "Reading is 4 luzrs" I just may vomit. What is our youth coming to? So few seem to be interested in educating themselvs, or knowing any damned thing anymore. They go to school to get the grade and get nothing from it.
Thus, I have decided since I've been told my clensing plans for WWIII are "cruel" and "insane" I have decided that a series of quasi-standardized tests should determine a new slave class of the inferior-minded. At least until I can convince the president to begin Manhattan Project session II and start fixing things up around the world.
On this note, if you ever want to see something quite amusing and don't mind being covered in the saliva, sweat, blood, and who knows whatever other bodily secretions of a bunch of teenageers and bands, go to a "Hardcore" or "Screamo" concert. Its the most magnificant gathering of painfully dim 10-18 (mostly around 14) year olds with no musical taste you can find, I guarantee it.
*A side note, please numetal kids, if you can read this, refrain from calling me "fist fuck" or "bitch" -you need something more inventive, your terms are getting ever so trite. And, do not call the bands I listen to "gay" or "pussy" considering the two terms have nothing to do with music, more so your bleak personal lives.
(For those confused by my title, I appologize, that would be my current substitution for the word "god" dear Sagbata, the African god of Smallpox.)
And so ends my rant for the day.
Another piece of advice though, never swim nude where fishing abounds. Oooh the fishooks...

Back....
Considering that I have completed all of my classes (all of such being college classes which have already been tested, save for newspaper which is also done) I shall be spending at least 3 hours a day at school sitting on the computer until May when it is finally goddamn over. This means I will probably start wandering here a lot more and move further than the Manson and Bauhaus boards now that I can keep up. Yaaay I get to bother you again :-)

Absence
Not really sure how often I shall be on isound anymore. I'm not leaving by far, but this next month or so is rather hectic between AP Exams, senior issue of newspaper, "family issues," hobbies and the like. Not like I'm constructive on here anymore anyway. I'll be back by summer though I'm sure. (Unless I move to New York ehhh)

Posting Is Pointless, But I'm At It Again...
I've been neglecting Isound a bit lately. Too busy.
Still have not come up with a plan of how to become a mass dictator so that I can begin the selective extermination of the human race, and in ten or fifteen years (or whenever I am simply feeling particularly bitchy before so) start a nuclear war. But it will come to me. I should probably graduate first anyway.
So I shall survive my remaining 8 weeks of school doing nothing. And on afterthought, listening to big jesus trash can which I cannot get out of my head.
Posting on these things is really pointless I have come to conclude.
My generation is horribly under-read. Has anyone else noticed this? Even the kids in my AP Language class have never read, nor heard of most of the great classics or even good modern literature. "Cannon whaa?" They say. I might explode the next time I make a literary allusion around acquaintences at school. And god, the kids on Isound. Under books, how many numetal kids have written something like "Huh, books?" "I don't like to read" or "ew" and those that do read seem to like Heltzer Skeltzer(sp?) or Anne Rice or Manga or something. Gag me.
On this note, if anyone feels like reading a stange but interesting book, pick up "geek love" by Dunn. And when they say geek, it means a person who bites the heads off of chickens, not a nerd. Its about a clan of carnys bred to be sideshows. I'm not sure if it was good or not. Some parts were even kind of tedius to get through, then again my attention span is terrible. But when one steps back and looks at the whole thing, its kind of amusing. And wierd. But I have no second opinnions on it because nobody else in this world reads. ::sighs::

I want Bauhaus to play in Tampa again. Time for another reunion tour guys...

Anyway, an old friend has decided to stop talking to me because I was dancing and prancing away in a graveyard like a dork yesterday. Maybe I do need to learn some respect for humans. Should I feel bad? I don't see why. Blegh whatever.
