Sunday, March 18th, 2007 Randy Rhoads' 25th Well here it is March 19th tommorow, the day Randy Rhoads crashed in a private plane; a 1955 Beechcraft Bonanza F-35. He was on tour in the states for guitar duties on Ozzy's Diary Of A Madman album.
He's been gone for 25 years and still his legacy lives on. Though his spin with Quiet Riot was too image-driven, his true star rose while composing freely in Ozzy's band. His classical flair fused with the raw power of metal, and in merely two albums the axeman produced more memorable moments than most in an entire career.
To me he is a heavy influence in both rythm and lead stylings, an exemple of patience and discpline. I also imagine the pain Ozzy still feels, having lost his greatest friend. In my profile, there's a drawing of Randy I made, hope you people like it.

So then, let's all give the man a warm tribute and play his solos till our fingers bleed, or go watch the Crazy Train video!

Sunday, March 18th, 2007 Inspiration...the burden The happy moments and strongest emotions in life often become what we thrive on as musicians, using them to form words and sounds. In other terms, a life lacking events kills inspiration.
Nonetheless, there is yet another side to this...and that reason is why I'm writing this entry. Its the fact that the tragic and horrible times are also a strong fuel for inspiration. It was my turn to be struck by it...
A girl, a friend that was very dear to me, lost her life in a car accident some two weeks ago. I learned about it eventually late at night the same day.
Putting myself to bed I somehow had to compose for her, and a structure came to mind, before any true sound was worked on.
The next morning, with my guitar and some loose paper, I composed a classical / acoustic piece like nothing I had done before...sad, romantic, totally fitting. In a single day it was completed and everything I felt for her was heard in the song.
Now that the sorrow has faded, I'm proud of my work. It'll help keep her in my memories forever. Maybe you'll hear it here on iSound, but I have yet to record it.
Well I'm out, so don't hide away because of your musical ambition, find time to spend with friends and family, go out and have fun...in the end you may write masterpieces a lot easier.

Sunday, March 4th, 2007 Intro Welcome,
Although I'm registered as a listener, I'm one of two lead guitarists in a Metal band(and no, I'm not an aggresive, bragging slob who uses drop-D tunings for lack of talent...lol).
Melody is important to me, for Metal and Classical are my favorites genres. I also sing, but not in our current band's lineup. More info will be up when our mp3's become available. I'll upgrade to an artist account.
Until then, enjoy my list of fav bands; you'll find the styles cover all genres of Metal and overflows to other genres as well.
Axemen Unite!
