| Monday, June 11th, 2007 I went, I saw, I CONQUERED! Well, I went to the show June 1st... for show details go to the Godhead page and leer. We had a great time but ended up leaving just a little before Head Charge finished up because I had a headache. We got to the car and were hanging out, waiting for Judy to finish a cigarette when a drunk chick comes over and asks if we have pot because apparently she'd gotten kicked out out of the show and she wanted to get high... yeah. Well we told her we were all clean and whatnot. It just so happend that she came up to the car when I was about to take my midnight pills for epilepsy... since we were out of town I just had them all tossed in a ziplock bag (and fyi I take a whole bunch of random types). The chick saw me taking them out of the bag and was like "Are those pills or shrooms or something? Can I have some?" I explained to her what they were and she said she understood, but then she still wanted them from me!! Fucking fiend!
Anyway, on the way home the next evening Brian and I decided to be spontaneous. We were going to go to the show in Evansville which was just a little out of our way. So I called the venue and made sure there were still tickets left, got directions to the place and we were off.
This venue was out in the middle of nowhere! We ended up getting directions from two different gas stations because we got lost on the way... cripes. Well, we made it nonetheless and once we got to the door I said "Please tell me you still have tickets left." The lady said "Yeah we do, I just need to see your IDs..." "Oh, we're not drinking tonight." "We still need to see your IDs, this is 21+ show.".............. GREAT. After all that we're fucked. Brian's only 20. Well I explained to her the situation and we were off again. Brian was so apologenic but still, it wasn't his fault... I found out later from a friend who went to the show that it said on the tickets it was an 18+ show. Bastards. lol Oh well, it was an adventure stalking bands. :)

| Thursday, April 19th, 2007 Going to Godhead and AHC 6-1! I am very excited about this show. :) I am a big fan of both bands and the opener is a really decent industrial band from the Chicagoland area, Fashion Bomb. The main reason I am going that day is because my friend Judy and I have not seen Godhead together since the Pigface tour in La Crosse on December 16, 2001. It's been a long time. It will be quite a good show-- this is my lucky number 7 for seeing Godhead and number 4 for seeing Head Charge. :D

| Friday, April 7th, 2006 Deadstar Assembly show 4/2/06 Okay, so this is a blog I wrote earlier on this week about the day leading up to the Deadstar Assembly, The Birthday Massacre show that I went to on Sunday, April 2. I know you're already a little behind on the times because of the fact that I wrote it on Monday and I am posting it on Friday... but yeah, it's a freaking review of a very recent show so shut up. NOTE: I work overnights at one of my jobs... just so you aren't confused. Here you go:
_______________________________________
It was nice to sleep-in today after having only a couple of hours of sleep yesterday... :) It was so worth it.
Well, I went to work like any other Saturday/Sunday night... but it ended up being fucking crazy!! I got there and we had over 900 pull with two people... (the most we've had was like 750) and it was Daylight Savings time, so I lost an hour and didn't make as much money as I would have on a normal day... :( Jesus fucking Christ. That sucked. But I did get off work an hour more refreshed. The normal 6:00am was actually 7:00am :)
I came home and got in the shower right away, woke Brian's ass up, and then we were off to Hillsboro. We got there around 11:00 or so, so the 'rents took us out to brunch at a little restaurant in Elroy. Good stuff. Then when we got back, I fuckin passed out. 1:30-4.
Then it was off to La Crosse. We got to downtown LaX around 5:30 and yanked it for a little while, then actually went to the venue around 6. We ended up standing outside for a while freezing our asses off, waiting for the doors to open... not so fun. It was worth it though when we got in. The show ended up being great!
The first band, Atomica were pretty decent... I am not so sure that they were playing to the right type of crowd that night, but I liked them a lot. They had a drummer, bass player and singer, and then computerized synth... the music was really chill, the type of stuff that I like to put on my headphones and just zone out to. :) very cool
Of course. Deadstar Assembly. The only reason why I was there!! Brian was very impressed. He liked their stuff before, but right away when they played their first new song he said to me "We're getting this." So yeah, he was sold. :) They were about split downt the middle on new vs. old material... all very good stuff. I loved it! The only thing that was missing was a big thing-- MUBO!!! He wasn't fucking playing! I don't know if he was just sick, or something is wrong, or what's up... but yeah, no Mubo. That was a little disappointing. I think I might have seen him running around after the show but he would have been without makeup and I've never seen a pic of him w/o makeup so... Idfk.... I'm a retard like that. Other than that things were in tip top shape. After they were done we ended up getting a setlist and a chunk of Cygnus's drumstick so that was cool.
Neither of us are big fans of The Birthday Massacre so during their set we went out to the merch area to get some shizzdizzle and to meet DSA... yeah. Ummm we did, and we did... ummm yeah haha. Brian took some pics of me with the band members so hopefuly those turned out nicely... While we were out meeting the band I was given a guitar pick... that was nice :) and I laughed because I told Brian before the show that I had to wear my guitar pick necklace because band members always give me a new pick to add on... haha :D
Anyway, ahh The Birthday Massacre-- I can't really say too much about them. We didn't really pay too much attention to them. Female singers REALLY have to blow me away to have me really like their band so that's an automatic downfall for them to me. I like their music otherwise.... but voice outweighed the music live, so there you go. They were fucked for me. We ended up leaving before their set was finished.
As we were leaving we were admiring the colored posters of the night's show, telling the guy at the door that we would really like one and we would even be willing to pay for one if he would give one to us. He was being a complete ass to us, so we were cooperative and just left quietly. Just as we were walking out the front door, who did we run into?? THE DRO!! :) I thanked him again for a great show and whatnot and I didn't even bring up the poster thing-- he did!! He said to take the poster off the front door... I told him the story about the asshole guy upstairs, he told me to be a rebel and gave me shit to just take it, I hemmed and hawed haha, then he took us upstairs and actually got us a fucking poster!!! Do you believe that shit!!! What a fucking sweetheart! :) That's when you know a band cares about their fans-- when they will do something like that for you. Then Dro thanked us again for coming out and supporting them and gave me a big hug and we went our separate ways.
Then we made the trek back to Eau Claire... such an excellent day!! :)
DRO-- You guys suck!

| Friday, April 7th, 2006 A little background on me... I figured that it might be nice to have a little insight into my amazing "life", just so if you decide to read further you will actually have SOME idea of what is going on in my blogs, so here's a little intro:
My name is Kari. I live with my boyfriend, Brian, in a small apartment in a shitty city in Wisconsin. At least I like the state... that's a plus for me. *shrugs* Money is really tight these days so I am working two part-time jobs while I go to school, but he recently got a better paying job, so the bills aren't quite so scary for the moment. :)
I am really close with my family, although we are not in a close proximity. Even when we can't see each other face to face, we'll always pick up the phone and catch up on things.
Ummm I guess that's a decent general start. I can definitely fill in details as I go along...
