Brad Paisley was born on October 28, 1972 in Glen Dale, West Virginia. At eight years old, he was given his first guitar. By ten, Paisley had his first public performance at his local church. At twelve, Paisley began writing his own songs. He also formed his own band, C-Notes, with his fifty-something guitar instructor (Clarence “Hank” Goddard) and two buddies. Not long after, Paisley performed at his local Rotary Club. He was then invited to perform on Jamboree USA, a nightly broadcast by the radio station, WWVA. Paisley would later open for stars such as The Judds and Little Jimmy Dickens. He then attended Belmont University in Nashville. He then signed a deal with Arista Records. Paisley’s debut album entitled Who Needs Pictures, was released in 1999. the single, “He Didn’t Have To Be,” was about his beloved stepfather. The song, “We Danced,” received critical acclaim. He then made a duet with Chely Wright entitled, “Hard to be A Husband, Hard To Be A Wife.”
Paisley’s sophomore album, Part II, was released in 2001. The album contained the singles, “Two People Fell In Love,” “I’m Gonna Miss Her (The Fishin Song),” “Wrapped Around,” and “I Wish You’d Stay.”
