Brand New was formed in a basement in Merrick, New Jersey by Brian Lane
(drums), Jesse Lacey (frontman), Garrett Tierney (bass), and Vin
Accardi (guitar). The group soon recorded a demo consisting of four
songs which was produced and recorded by themselves. The demo went on to
sell over four thousand copies, and got Brand New much acclaim in Long
Island. They began touring with artists such as New Found Glory, Good
Charlotte, and Glassjaw. Brand New soon signed to Triple Crown records.
Their 2002 debut was entitled Your Favorite Weapon. The group soon
appeared on the Road Rules soundtrack, Don’t Make Me Pull This Over.
Brand New has been gaining popularity quickly throught their enegetic
live shows. The group’s influences are The cars, Squeeze, The Beach Boys,
Lifetime, Weezer, and The Foo Fighters.
