Brian Collins
Everything began with a "Talent Show" in late 2003. The formation of The Asian Invasion sparked the musical career of Brian Collins. The Asian Invasion, a pop-punk band with influences including Blink-182, Jimmy Eat World, Semisonic and many other pop-punk icons of the period, the trio of Clark Thomas, Nissar Ahmed and Brian Collins went on to play a couple of shows with covers and originals.
Collins' musical career continued with the formation of Ill-Fated Day, an acoustic rock band formed in late September of 2004. The trio of Christopher Taylor, Phil Logan and Brian Collins burst onto the post-hardcore era emo scene with acoustic pieces such as Shadows and Crossing the Street Without Looking and the heavy song Snowmobile. The trio played their first and only show at the Warren Area Student Union before going their separate ways.
After the fallout of Ill-Fated Day, Brian Collins and Christopher Taylor turned their attention to the lighter but powerful acoustic rock scene. The duo formed the Middleton High project in late 2004 and continued until May 2006 at which a hiatus was quietly announced.
Collins, now living and attending school in Holland, Michigan, continues to turn out numbers including the brand-new "Searching for That Something" just released November 24th, 2006. Others include "I Have Become the Black Spots in Your Eyes," "This is How to Grow Up," and "A New Concept Left Unfinished."
Spring (Heart) Break In Pennsylvania, the latest from Brian Collins, was just released on March 22, 2007. This limited EP features a brand new style and songs such as Nice Try! and Never Quite Good Enough. |
