"Rhythm and Poetry", featuring the Benevento/Russo Duo, is the debut record for NYC based composer Brian Mitchell. On this record, Mike Dillon (KDTU, Critters Buggin', Hairy Apes BMX) rounds out the quartet with all orginal songs written, arranged, and produced by Brian.
Grant Green, The JB's, King Tubby, Sun Ra, and Miles Davis, can all be heard as influences on this record. Brian, taking a nod from the aforementioned, creates music all his own.
