ABOUT BRIAN "BEAN" O'NEAL
Brian "Bean" O'Neal - (Owner-BCO Media, Inc., Producer, composer, keyboardist, software developer) was born in Detroit, Michigan. At the age of six, Bean's musical interest awakened when he began taking drum lessons. Before long, Bean immersed himself in music, mastering the Saxophone, Bass, and Trombone. This was a pivotal moment in Bean's musical development and marked the exploratory phase of his experimentation with melodies and chords. His diligence and expertise earned Bean a coveted full Piano/Music Scholarship at Alcorn University in 1984., quite a remarkable feat for a self-taught pianist.
Currently, Bean is pouring his soul into an upcoming project called "Daisy" which is dedicated to the legacy of his late Grandmother, Daisy O'Neal. Bean credits his Grandmother for both influencing and nurturing his musical endeavors. ABOUT THE NAME "BEAN"
I've been asked this many times - Where did "Bean" & "Beano" come from? It all started on stage back in the 80's. One of the female singers in my band (while under the influence of too many drinks) announced me as "String Bean". The audience laughed then started chanting "go string bean, go string bean". That eventually segued into just "go bean". It stuck. Once off stage fans greated me with "Mr. Bean", then just Bean. The Beano comes from a few friends incorporating my last name O'Neal with Bean. |
