BIO
Brittany is the seventeen year old daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Phil Blackwell of Greer, S.C. She has two older siblings. She started singing professionally at five (5) years of age at “The Little Miss S.C. Pageant” in Sumter, S.C. She sang the song: “Somday I'll Be Miss America.” Brittany has since won numerous beauty titles and talent awards for her performing and entertaining. Brittany has said that she wanted to devote her time into becoming not only a country singer, but also an entertainer for the people.
Between 1998 and 2006, Brittany has performed in many places including Spartanburg, N.C. in 1998, where she won the Fox-21 talent competition, to Pigeon Forge, TN, where she won: “Future Star-Female”, “Rising Star-Album of the Year”, “Most Promising Dancer of the Year”, and “Most Promising Mixed Duo of the Year”. She has performed in many places in S.C., her home state, N.C. Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, Tennessee, and Georgia. She has gotten encouragement everywhere she has gone from the people she has met, among them is Pam Lewis, the former manager of Garth Brooks. Ms. Lewis had his publisher go and listen to Brittany. The next morning he had her to go to his studio. There she received her original songs for her latest CD. This one is called: ”Brittany Blackwell.”
She recorded her first cassette called: ”Brittany Blackwell Country Favorites, Volume 1” in 1998, when at seven (7) years of age. She recorded her second recording, her first CD, in 1999 which she calls: ”Brittany Blackwell Country Favorites Volume 2” at Big Mama's Recording Studios. Her second CD, she made in 2002, which is called: “Brittany Blackwell Country Classics.” She has recorded in several studios: “Main Event Studios” in Granite Falls, N.C., “Workhorse Studios” in Easley, S.C., and “Regal Media Group” in Fletcher, N.C.
Brittany is a very giving and loving person. She performed at benefits to raise money for “Toys for Tots”, and she has raised money for a neighbor who needed financial help when they lost their son. She performs at Birthday Parties, Wal-Mart Christmas Parties, Weddings, Fairs, Festivals, Fund-raisers, Nursing Homes, Auctions, and Funerals, anywhere she gets the opportunity.
Brittany is a member of “The Carolina Cloggers”, in Greenville, S.C., “The Georgia Country Gospel Music Assoc.” in Dalton, GA, and “The Sweet Southern Entertainment, Assoc”. Brittany has sang on TV Channel 16 with Billy Rainey as host, TV channel 43 in Seymour, TN, and on the 99.9 KISS FM's stage at the ”Belle Chere” Festival.
On April 27, 2006, Brittany will be showcased in Nashville, TN on music row with Sony Records, Cub Records, etc., with Ms. Pam Lewis heading it. On April 28th, she will be doing a video for her song, ”Objects in the Mirror”.
August 25, 26 and 27, she will be a part of the Nashville Music Network's 2006 Showcase. This will be held at Johnny B's in Nashville, TN.
