Bryan has received critical acclaim for his songs by winning major awards: the MOVA international songwriting competition, the Great American Songwriting Competition, placing as a finalist in the John Lennon Songwriting Competition and the Performing Songwriter Magazine contests. He also scored the feature length film “Mushka Water” which has already won the Best Independent Film Award at the prestigious Hatch Festival in Bozeman, Montana and the film is already scheduled for Sundance Film Festival and Cannes Film Festival in France.
Bryan has performed with the Dixie Dreggs, Kansas, Bonnie Raitt, Lisa Loeb, and jazz greats Larry Carlton, and Scott Henderson. He also was awarded the 2002-2003 Bonnie Raitt Endowed Scholarship and has performed in the Los Angeles Jazz Festival for the past three years. In addition to ESPN, his music has been featured on the History Channel, and the Food Network. Bryan has also been a featured performer on the Dallas Classical Guitar Society and Dallas Museum of Art concert series and has been received outstanding musicianship awards from IAJE (International Association of Jazz Educators).
A native of Dallas, Bryan began his professional career as the opening act for guitarist Larry Carlton. A graduate of University of Southern California (BM, DMA), and University of Texas (MM), Bryan has studied with many of the perennial guitarists in the jazz world; Joe Diorio, Larry Koonse, and Steve Masakowski.
Bryan’s bluegrass quartet – Honeywagon – was signed a 4 album deal with CMH records. Their release “Grass Stains”, “Green Day, Blue Grass” have received critical acclaim and spent over 54 weeks on the Billboard Magazine Top 15 Bluegrass Chart. |
