The Burning Sage Band performs an eclectic mix of rock,blues,r&b,southern rock and country rock.Ken Lehnig has been writing and performing for over thirty years his love of all musical genres allows a creative and open approach to the bands music.It's all about the story. The great musicianship of the band members and their ability to create inovative arrangements is what makes it work as it does.Rick Lehnig's lead guitar can be soaring or subtle depending on the piece. The songs on this site are from two different incarnations. Ten are more Popish and tend to point more towards the vocals and lyrics. The others have a harder edge-a more aggresive bottom and horns.
My brother(Rick)and me (Ken Lehnig- The old man)have been playing rock and blues since 1963.We played venues along the west coast and recorded and sold and played our own work along the way. Bob has been on drums with us for about 16 years-Eric on bass for a few (He is the new harder bottom and our musical director) and Mason singing for 4. On the new album my son Chris plays sax. It's hard to stick us in one form or another. When I write them- if the band likes them -we work them up.I'll post more old and new.

The lead singer kept screaming 'Magister Mundi sum!' over and over.Bob got offended -he thought it was his job.
