Bylli Crayone, born and raised in Lawrence, Massachusetts-a City best known for it's Latin and Hip-Hop culture. Raised by his mother, he was encouraged in the belief that with hard work and dedication he could and would realize his goals in life. Inspired by the work of 80's icons Madonna, Cyndi Lauper and Boy George, Bylli began his pursuit of a music career in high school, when he and his friend Jose Aponte formed the short-lived but memorable techno group The Sound System, birthing the debut songs Dance Control & Teen Power. Though the duo soon split, Bylli remained focused on music, creating a "Sight and Sound" all his own.
In 1991 while in Miami he recorded his first solo demo Girl, Hang it Up! -a floor-stomping Miami bass dance track that immediately caught fire and the attention of the masses. Bylli Crayone the artist as we know and love him, was born .
In 2001, Bylli wrote and recorded his first complete studio album "Toyfriend" with producers Domenic Marte (98 Degrees, Jennifer Lopez, Thalia) and Lawrence Sterling, which was released independently through LawTown Records. Launching two controversial dance singles, "Touch Me All Over" and "Drop Those Pants!". The album appealed to a wide demographic including the freestyle fans, the MTV-TRL viewers and the ever-supportive gay community-listeners spanning in age from 13 to 35. Not bad for a young man who first set out with a pocket full of dreams and little else.
When asked whether after going it alone thus far he would consider signing with a major label , Bylli explained that he would opt to stay independent. After learning of the experiences of friends, former New Kids On The Block frontman Jordan Knight, freestyle king Johnny O and British bombshell Samantha Fox he has come to the conclusion that it is best to remain in control of ones own career and finances. And Bylli seems able to do so.
For Bylli , this is only the beginning of a journey that has already taken him worldwide performing and perhaps more signifigant, into the presence of his life-long idol Cyndi Lauper. She remains a constant inspiration, and he remains dedicated to making as meaningful a mark in the business.
The bleach-blonde lightening bolt is currently at work on his next highly anticipated single,-tentatively titled "DIZZY BOI" and is set to strike in early 2006. This will be the first CD by Bylli that will be released in 2 countries USA & JAPAN. But in the meantime, Be sure to check out Bylli's 2005 Self Titled release which is available now.
So set up your kites and prepare for the Zap of a lifetime!
