C-Ray
Singer/Producer/Songwriter
Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, C-Ray, (b. Chris Roberts), has always been known by many people as a multitalented individual. His ability to sing R&B on records is undeniably remarkable not to mention his talents as an all around producer. With his ability to soulfully magnetize the attention of many individuals, C-Rays voice of melodic harmony is bound to secure a position on the platform on the stage of R&B music.
C-Ray has been involved in music from an early age. With his father playing the piano and also holding a passion for music, he persuaded C-Ray into learning the art of music as much as possible. When C-Ray was seven, he heard an old Indian song from his fathers personal music collection. But since he was unable to play real music, he learned how to play it by ear on the piano and has grown with the ability to play any form of music to this very date. C-Rays talent for singing has also been a historical factor in his young life. However, he had never shared his singing ability with the public until the age of 13 where he performed karaoke at Cedar Point. C-Rays first vocal performance surprised members of his family, friends, acquaintances, and even a scouting agent from Silas Entertainment who wanted to have him sign a recording contract. Considering the fact that he and his family believed the talented singer was too young, C-Ray declined the offer.
Eventually moving to Kokomo, Indiana, he was later founded by Preston of Smoothstone Records to join a boy band group. In failing to work with a good connection with the members of Smoothstone Entertainment, C-Ray parted ways from them and was later founded by Knyghtmare, (CEO of Illegal Business Records) in1999 when attempting to watch a movie in a theater for free by singing to the cashier. Knyghtmare then introduced C-Ray to Ability.
In his works with Ability and Rawthentic Records, C-Ray has provided vocals, and produced, a number of released projects.
His extraordinary capability to continuously grow as a musical genius in the 21st century, C-Ray is considered to be a future cornerstone of R&B, alongside urban contemporary music, as we all know it. |
