| Like stumbling upon a dusty box of brilliant forgotten memories, the lo-fi-late-night pop musings of Calibrated Crematorium will remind you of what got you into music in the first place. The side project of Kevin Richard and Seth Bohn of Chicago's Mannequin Men, Calibrated Crematorium is bundled up energy looking to dance, imbued with the impetuousness of stoned wonder. Their three-minute hits are all created and recorded within a span of six hours, never simmering and never allowed to lose the shape of their original intent. Recorded direct to 4-track cassette, Calibrated Crematorium are a bit like taking a look inside the Folk Implosion and seeing a delirious Robin Gibb sharing a root beer float with Joe Walsh. Or at least Gary Numan running tape between Jad Fair and The Swell Maps. In this same spirit, Contraphonic is proud to present Calibrated Crematorium to the world in the form of a digital download release with limited edition cassettes made to order. Details TBA shortly. Get ready to gas up the Datsun and press play. |
