My name is Callum Hendry, I have lived mostly in Lambeth , South East London , England , UK , most of my life.To write great songs you only have to be sincere , also writing songs for the love of it helps a lot as well , these are the secrets to writing great songs , I also like to always write songs that have universal appeal , this is what makes an international single , the way I talk , you're think I've had a couple of hits myself , no I haven't yet , I'm currently totally unsigned and unpublished and it doesn't bother me in the slightest , I also like not write lyrics that only pertain myself or a bunch of cool phrases or difficult to understand , this is just my personal taste and there are lots of hits that do have lyrics that are a bunch of cool phrases and are hard to understand , I guess I'm getting old , the kids have fun at the karaoke nights in pubs , singing these type of songs , there not into all this clever , clever stuff. As the great legendary cream of world class Jazz guitarist , Bucky Pizzarelli says , " the melody says more then the lyrics " , I guess it that Zen thing as well , theres no one way of doing something , only many ways and the public that go out and buy CDs is not interested in the intricies of songwriting , they like it because they feel it , I relocated to Wick , North Scotland , UK in 2000 and have been based there since. Since the year 2001 , I have been having professional music productions of my songs by various US music production demo services. In the fall of 2001, I had one of my songs played on Moray Firth Radio. This is a Acoustic Rock song called ' I Shiver ' . It was produced by Jeff Severson , at his studio in Arlington , Virginia , USA. A session singer sung it. In the beginning of the year 2002 , I was offered a publishing contract for a Modern Rock song called ' Addicted ' by DSM Producers ( a Publisher and Film / TV Licensing company) . This song was also sung by a session singer. This song was produced by Kyle Ashley , at his studio in Florida , USA. In September , 2004 , I signed a songwriter contract for a song called ' She Carried Herself Well ' , with the Paramount Group ( www.paramountsong.com ), a music company based in Nashville , USA , that specialises in pitching songs to the music industry in USA. The Paramount Group only work with you , if they think your lyrics , have hit potential.You have to submit your lyrics through their website and they let you know by letter , if your lyrics have hit potential.In October , 2004 , I signed another songwriter contract with the Paramount Group , for two songs called ' Spread Your Love Over Me ' and ' Your Face Is My Favourite Picture Of Art.' The song called ' Your Face Is My Favorite Picture of Art ' is on a compilation CD called ' Catch A Rising Star ' , the Paramount Group co-writer played their demos they had done over a year to a panel of music professionals and the music professionals voted this song as one of the very best. David Spak sung the vocals , as well as produced ' Your Face Is My Favorite Picture Of Art ' and also composed the music.( www.DavidSpak.com ) This song is done in a Country Rock style. I also have a Country Rock song called ' The Way She Looks At Me ' , written by myself and a Paramount Group provided co-writer , is on the Paramount Group , Catch a Rising Star CD , that come out in early 2006 , this song , too has been voted by a panel of music professionals as one of the very best demos of best demos done by the Paramount Group , the year , 2005 , I was informed this information by the Paramount Group , last November 2005. Also my ' The Hospital Window ' ballad , written by myself and a Paramount Group provided co-writer will be out sometime this year on the new Paramount Group , Catch A Rising Star. This song , too has been voted by a panel of music professionals as one of the very best demos of best demos done by the Paramount Group this year. My ' Boyfriend ' song has been a May finalist on www.songoftheyear.com in the Adult Contempary section , this song is produced by Ken Barken Productions in Nashville , USA. ww.kenbarken.com. This song is written by myself. My ' Boyfriend ' song is a female gender specific song sung by a session female vocalist.This song also got to number five on the Hitzone chart on the www.theindustryresource.com , in early August , 2006. This song has a R&B/Hip Hop/Soul feel to it. My ' To Be With You ' song , written by myself ( lyrics ) and Willie Oliphant( music ).Willie Oliphant produced this song at his studio in Inverness , Scotland.This song has been a February finalist in the www.songoftheyear.com , Electronic/Dance section. This song is done in a Downtempo/Electronic ballad style. Over the years I've been getting my songs done by various demo services in the USA and UK. The styles I've done my songs in are Rock , Dance , Country , Electronic / Dance and R&B/Pop. I've found these demo services on the internet. I have nearly all the backing tracks to all my songs. My song ' You're An Angel Made In Heaven ' got to number one on the Hitzone chart on www.theindustryresource.com in early August , 2006. This song is written by myself ( lyrics ) and John Hamilton ( music ). Two years ago I spent a lot of money on music equipment , such as a Rode NT2 microphone , an expensive studio microphone cable made by Monster Cable and a Focusrite Mic Pre amp. I also bought Making Waves ( a British sequencer ) for my computer because I read on www.makingwavesaudio.com , that Daniel Bedingfield uses Making Waves.
