Honesty & Integrity
Remember One Thing as a decent musician!
Life as a unsigned artist is filled with many good experiences but also pitfalls and disappointments!
sometimes in achievements, sometimes in those you chose to be trusted. Be slow to choose who you trust but fast to remember those who support you!! seriously!
Music is meant to be a GOOD thing! not a business!! too many forget this!
Honesty above all else is paramount!
don't allow yourself to be caught up in blagging or dodgy dealing.
Just be true to yourself and in time the personal support you recieve will be enormous!
I have had many challenges in the past with mainly people,
but also events, "That comes with the territory!"
remember sometimes you will need to sacrifice things to keep the peace and sometimes you will need to be the greater person to keep your integrity!
the weaker will show their colours!
But shine with human decency and those who watch you will give you everything and more to get the job done!
I had a sad moment the other day.
The reason why I am writing this blog really;
It hurt me deeply to Realise I've been conned by someone I trusted and truely cared about..I once shared a bit of my vision with them. even trusted! It reminded me that stress can be a killer and to let sleeping dogs lie!
The fact is, my cancer was stress induced by a couple of events which i couldnt deal with. One big event was trusting this particular person and helping them by lending my entire guitar rig; some costume, among many other items!
Subsequently, they took this and then kept it for themselves, blanking my calls. Even after many many pleas for the return of this rare expensive equiptment some of which was not mine!
(I got special permission to lend it first!)
That person returned to my life recently after many attempts to catch their attention!
The final attempt took a bit of strategic thinking to catch their eye and to my surprise it worked!? they emailed myspace!!! "A perfect plan!"
However, It wasnt pleasant when they did get in touch!
it was surreal as though I was the wrong do'er!?
Bizzarre! wierd and unpleasant!!
I had hoped they had matured by now, but sadly not.
I began to feel very ill again very quickly I soon realised that holding onto wrongs done to me is not going to help my future and my remaining health! This matter of stolen equiptment had to be let go!!
After this and a couple of 'tactful replies'
(never get angry as it doesn't profit you!)
I realised that after 6 years of turmoil from this individual, Id rather consider purchasing new gear for my REAL friends than for them or me to go in and retrieve the guitar gear this person has taken!
to do the noble thing even if it costs you!
So after deliberation and working out how to save up on a very small disabled income, I have decided to pay the £700 ish myself to buy my friends replacements for the stuff this chap took away from me.
BUT Remember Money is not as important as integrity & honesty! If you manage to pioneer this, then you will become all that Rudyard Kipling encompasses! & graceful to boot!
The other issue is holding on too hard to the goal of financial support from a record lable!
Its all BALLS!
once you are 25 its a farce with them! Bullshit! unless you made friends by then?!
The lables have limited lifespan these days. internet will eventually take over! Mark these words!
Just be yourself! Enjoy your music and put God first in your life!
Seriously! I dont care if someone thinks i'm a religious nut! I'm also not into the music bulshit thats Going on within the insecure powers that be! remember people talk carap sometimes . anyway religious nut I'm not! just a dude with simple faith! and no money. like all of us!
iSounds Doesn't real going only sell the material often! it does but I have never actually sold a track on it as yet! we all know that this is purely for our pleasure and to listen to each others music!
but to have the illusion of selling records is great fun!
This individual recently contacted me about a scrappy old unfinished demo on isounds that i placed up (it was a tactic to get them to contact me about the gear they had). after the one way conversation i recieved I realised, there are people out there who are desperately tunnel visioned in their lives and are destined to a lifetime of unhappiness and pain. in a way, this released me inside as I realised that although I had been badly wronged by this individual very badly for a very long time, which Partly evented into my ill health, the fact came to me that through their own nature and character,I realised they are in a desperate state and need prayer to help their own fulfillment as a human being. a child of God! The great pain I have felt from all this, I must let go of, or God forbid I will get ill again! amd I believe God has a plan for me to spread a message internationally!
So I am now going to pray for that person! and I already feel a release! to let go of something that can potentially make you hate and do things that could harm is an amazing feeling! better than any drug I have taken in the past!
Remember, musicians, enjoy your passion for music! but never, Never get over zealous!
TODAY; I have learned a lot in the last few years and after the loss of my wife, my colon, and a ball to cancer (well its true!!?) I have realised that too many PEOPLE WASTE THEIR LIVES NOT LETTING GO! Im a believer in letting go! I HAVE to!
I dare not get stress induced cancer again! I got a job to do!!
Remember in the prime of life's values; Money is meaningless!
I KNOW! I have none!
But remember; Relationships are everything!
Especially in music sometimes! Remember to build a knowledgable group of people around you who trust you, and you TRUST!
Not easy, and there will be heartbreak in making mistakes in this
(i know only too well on several different occasions)
but those around you who you take care in music, will stop at nothing to support you and help! I am very lucky these days to have the extensive support team around me!Personal spiritual and my professional team! but it takes many years sometimes and a lot of learning how to treat others to get there! we all make mistakes &
Mistakes buy us experience!
remember to take each bad moment and put it down to learning an experience!
even if you lose a band, a member, your guitar gear through theft? or a deal! ive lost all those and much more in the past. But I have gained riches in experience about human nature, and also myself and how to be a better person! yes It hurts terribly, even now Im broken hearted that I cant resolve some issues in the past, but thats not my responsability anymore and I give it all up to God!
"Remember The Way forward is to Learn from bad experiences and forgive when the time comes!" move forward not back and you have your future ahead of you! those who dont, end up making themselves unhappy.

[CARELESS] Lifestyle
So welcome to the end of another festival season. This years greenbelt was awesome, I look back at the year with fondness. Hi to Kayliegh, and Gemma, Jo, Sm and nicole. you all were troopers and much love! I want to shout out to my old manager Larry, Much cudos my friend. Keep in touch.
