| The CD Italian Arias features the most beautiful arias ever presented in world famous operas like La Bohème, Rigoletto, Nabuco and La Traviata, among others. The arrangements and performance are of tenor Carlos Slivinski, a prize-winning singer and conductor. The soprano is Roxana Kostka from the Sinphonic Orchestra Chorus of São Paulo, Brazil.
Carlos Slivskin was born in Buenos Aires and initiated his studies with his father, who was a violinist. After winning a contest at the Colón infant theater, he performed as a solo player under the conducting of world-renowned names like Pablo Casals. In 1975, he moved to Sao Paulo, Brazil, and started his carrier as a composer and conductor. His first performance there was as a tenor in the Rigoletto opera piece as Duca di Mantova at the Teatro Municipal do Rio de Janeiro, which gave him the APCA (Sao Paulo Art Critics Association) best lyric singer prize in 1993. The following year Slivskin made a presentation in Italy at the Verona theater. Back to Sao Paulo, he became a producer at Azul Music Records, redirecting his career into the composing and arranging field. |
