| The Carolines are a five piece band from Portland, OR. Their sound has been compared to everything from Ben Folds Five to The Beach Boys, due to their melodic and pop approach to vintage rock. The vibe of the band is based around the Rhodes Piano being flanked by heavy guitars and driving bass. Tasteful, Chicago-like trumpet parts, played by Nate Purscelley, add layers to their much coveted sound. Aaron Trueb's high tenor sound gives the band their individuality. His lyrics are deep and meaningful using dry sarcasm. Jared Abraham, a musical phenom, has been pounding the beat home since he joined the band at 12. With influence from John Bonham he keeps a very steady pulse for the band to create the layers it needs to. Also at age 12, Nathan Trueb the lead guitarist joined the band after taking off with the guitar, having only under a years experience of playing. He is much influenced by all the greats of the guitar; Jimmy Page, SRV, Grant Green, and many other jazz guitarists. Matt Lenhart, the newest member of The Carolines has fit in with the ryhthm section like a glove. With all of this, The Carolines make their albums and live shows something you don't want to miss. "When people come out, no matter if there is 2 people, or 100, we are going to put on a show that they won't be disappointed." Says Nathan Trueb about their live show. |
