A logical reason to not like the casualties. I'm not one of those posuer kids who thinks punk is blink 182. So shut up. I know punk and ive been listening to it for a long ass time. The Casualties piss me off because they die trying to state that theyre punk. I mean, they over use the word "punk". It's almost on all of there cds. Theres a saying that your not punk if you have to prove you are. To me at least that applies. So what if your a punk and love punk rock? You don't have to use the word in every song. Thats why i don't like the Casualties and stick to punk like the Distillers ,Misfits, Ramones, Stooges, Rancid(by the way, old Rancid kills casualties on terms of street punk),Amen, old AFI and so on. You probably won't agree with me, but admit i have a point.

I love you dude
hahahahah | nausea | Old AFI is barely punk, Stooges are more on the classic rock side, and Amen is more on the metal side, my friend. Atleast The Casualties haven't sold out like Rancid have so they do NOT beat the Casualties in street punk. Although, I do admit... The Casualties are on the boarder of selling out. JUST because they use the word, "punk" a lot DOES NOT mean that they aren't punk... Have you ever heard their song PROUD TO BE PUNK? Huuuhh? I'm sure you have. They're deffinatley punk and PROUD to be it, so they express themselves. There's no wrong in THAT. AND the old-school punk bands are not the only ones left, if you HAVE been listening to punk for a long time then you MUST'VE heard of more underground bands rather than the more pop-ish old-school bands.
"PROUD TO BE PUNK, WE DON'T GIVE A FUCK! PROUD TO BE PUNK! UP THA PUNX!" | Casualty_Girl | old afi is pure punk rock. what are you talking about? ok they can be punk and proud, and i am too, but that deosnt mean they have to build themselves around it. plenty of other bands are just as punk as them and dont overuse the word "punk". oh yea amen is a punk band, although more technically power punk which is why you may think them metal. and i said old rancid. old rancid didnt sell out and were like the definition of punk in their day. who do you think the casualties got inspired from. maybe not directly rancid, but at least op ivy, which tim played in. and the stooges, well they like started punk. their songs were far away from the rock thing. | Revenant13 | I never said any of them weren't punk... I said more on one side than the other, there are no reading in-between the lines with me... But I do not blame you for making assumptions because you indeed do not know me... MC5 started punk, that is that... But it seems that we both have different oppinions on this, and the argument is not going to stop, so I am stopping it right here. Yes, I know I didn't put up much of a fight, but I have bette rthings to do with my life ^_^ | Casualty_Girl | to be honest, ive been in many arguments about this and your like the only one who made a logical point in defending the casualties. i too, have better things to do | Revenant13 | casualties OWN is all i have to say...but, rancid and all those other bands you mentioned are great also | rancidfreak99 | i really do agree with you that the casualties DO sing about being punks and living life on the streets, drinkin 40oz. and sniffin glue...but i see no problem with that. | rancidfreak99 | Sorry for killing the conversation but I feel special. This conversation was written on my BIRTHDAY! Oh my god, I feel so special, thanx guys. By the way, kid, I totally disagree with you, LATEZ! | ILoveSidVicious | | sell out bands.casualty grl rules!!!!!!!!!! | boyamats | The Casualties music i love it i saw them two years ago in reno with the krum bums! you say that they say punk on all there fucken cds? Did one of you friends tall you that? mybe you should listen to all of them! | Oi_Fucker | What does it matter if they overstate the fact that their "punk".
I see your point, it does seem a little hypocritical for a punk band to constantly state the fact that their punk
But honestly, I don't see why it matters.
The fact is, The Casualties make some great music.
That's all that should matter.
Judge them on their sound, not their image.
To label bands as "punks" or "posers" defeats the whole mentality of punk music anyways, so I don't see why it matters.
If a band makes good music, that's all that matters
