| Cat Scientist has been moving bodies in Austin’s clubs for nearly 3 years with their infectious and quirky dance-pop. With members that have played in bands like Poison 13, Brown Whornet, Knife in the Water, The Horsies, and the Meat Purveyors, it is no surprise that Cat Scientist’s music draws on many forms and synthesizes them into what can only be described as poppy bliss. Their music also draws on many varied subjects lyrically that add a quirky ingredient to their recipe. With subject matter that ranges from saving kittens from terrorist attack to being stuck in traffic at I-35 and Riverside Drive the overall effect is equally reminiscent of the Talking Heads as it is of Ween. Delivered by the duet of Ray Craig and Brant Bingamon the result is nothing short of brilliance. |
