In the 70's Chicago was a concert attraction playing is sold out stadiums around the whole world. In 1978 Terry Kath died so they hired the new guitarist Donnie Dacus this begin the transformation of the band when they played in the Caesar's Palace and it semed like they were just parodying themselves, this transformation make the band fall when they also abandoned the mix of pop, rock and jazz in their album Chicago 13. In 1982 Dacus was replaced by Bill Champlin and the band return to their singular sound in the album Chicago 16.
