Chimparade was formed by Ignacio Moreno (guitar) and Licha Mendoza (bass) in October 2002 with the name Chimp Sound. In one of those coincidences of life, they were drinking wine in a park in the center of Bogotá deciding to make a band. Licha was guitarist but decided to change his six strings for the deeper four strings. After playing for their friends with a drum machine, Cristhian Quimbay entered the Chimp Sound’s life, changing the electronic percussion, for human percussion.
In July of 2004, the band suddenly recorded a demo with four songs and one extra track (electronic) made by the vocalist Ignacio. The demo was called: Demo 2004. After that, the band was renamed.
In October 2005 the band recorded a new small album called "Vol. 0.5"
They are currently making concerts in bars, schools and universities of Bogotá city. |
