Greatest voice in rock? No doubt Cornell has got an awesome voice. Personally, I think it may be the best in rock; but not necesarily. What do you think? Who has a better voice than Chris?

Nobody-
you are totally right
Chris Cornell is amazing...
he's gonna be the best forever and ever... no one will replace him when he retires...
chris cornell is god. | rancidropkick12cents |
Chris does have an amazing voice. But, i don't know who has a better voice. Maybe Rob Halford of Judas Priest has a better voice than cornell. I'm just guessing. Don't take my word for, if anyone beleives anybody else has better vocals other than Chris Cornell, then please post it on this forum. | riff_master |
Maynard James Keenan's is better, Chino Moreno Is also up there, My personal favorite is Serj Tankian, but Maynard James keenan beats even him | Mr_Krift |
Ha ha...Serj is cool, his voice is awesome.
Doesnt beat up to Chris COrnell for shit.
For me, no one ties to Chris..but the 2 people right below him are:
Anthony Kiedis- Red Hot Chili Peppers
Eddie Vedder- Pearl Jam | rancidropkick12cents |
Dude, Maynard James Keenan kicks the shit out of Chris Cornell, dont get me wrong i still love CC but MJK kicks ass | Mr_Krift |
My personal favorite voices in rock in no paritcular order:
Chris Cornell of Soundgarden and Audioslave
Brett Scallions of Fuel
Scott Wieland(pre-druggie) of Stone Temple Pilots(the voice in VR isnt near as good)
Brett Smith of Shinedown
Layne Staley of Alice In Chains
These are all some of my favorite bands, theres other voices I think are great but these are the best in my opinion.

i think chris has a great voice, but i don't like how hes been using it lately...some of the audioslave songs seemed to have gotten farther away from his great voice...also i agree with the person who said that the lead singer for pearl jam has a great voice cuz that guy can keep it up thru an entire concert with consecutive songs...its insane... | whiterabbit_87 |
Eddie Vedder has an alright voice, great vibrato's, but it just sounds like hes trying too hard. Cornell sounds completely natural in every song he does.
And I disagree with the comment about audioslave. He's simply changing genre. If you listen closely at the debut of Audioslave, you can see that he often goes back to the sg days. Examples? Like A Stone, What You Are, Last Remaining Light, etc. | big-k |
oh yes..cc definetly has an amazing voice.. but eddie veder of pearl jam is right up there with him..
they both rock me hard.
:D | rockmehard |
i agree with krift, maynard has a better voice. it is so eerie in tool and beautiful in apc. i cant wait for their next album. | zero18 |
Chris Cornell and Eddie Veder are both great. Geoff Tate too! The Best voice in rock is Nim Vind (formerly Mr. Underhill). Check out demos of The Fashion of Fear and We Lead Double Lives at http://www.musicv2.com/artist/antidote?album_ id=37
