Chris DeMarco began his career in music as a much sought-after musician and band front man, having shared the stage and played with a virtual who’s who of super-musicians of the ‘70’s and ‘80’s. After deciding to leave behind the glare of the bright lights of Hollywood and the ever-pulsing New York music scene, DeMarco settled into the cadence of more laid back climes that now finds him at his most serene self. He now has two CDs on his self-distributed label Dreamco Music and shows himself to be in fine musical form as he treats us to a volume of classic fare meant to please the true Rock aficionados among us.
The latest CD is simply called "Chris DeMarco - The 80's". The songs on the new CD were recorded in New York in the 1980's and have now been released for the first time. If you are a fan of 80's music, you are in for a real treat! Some of the great musicians who played on these tracks include Bob Kulick (KISS, Meatloaf), Doug Katsaros (Aerosmith, BonJovi, Elton John), Thommy Price (Billy Idol, Ron Wood, Blue Oyster Cult), and Yogi Horton (John Lennon, Aretha Franklin, The B-52’s).
”Lost and Found” is an aptly named album that weaves together DeMarco’s past and present musical contributions into one cohesive work, featuring Dick Wagner (Alice Cooper Band), Tommy Talton (Gregg Allman Band and Cowboy), Ken Mazur (Robert Palmer Band), and Barry Richman (Lynard Skynard) on Guitar; Billy Langley, keyboards; Rhys Clark (Billy Joel Band and Freddy Fender Band) playing drums; and Jim Fielder (Buffalo Springfield, Blood Sweat and Tears and Neil Sedaka) on Bass. Billy Joel and Michael Monarch (Steppenwolf) appear on the bonus track Sail Away.
Chris DeMarco, whose experience in the entertainment industry spans over four decades, has also given his musical influence to documentaries, television and radio commercials as well as two film scores. Troma's War released in 1988 by Troma Entertainment featured music composed and produced by DeMarco, including the title track "Alive". (Chris also played a terrorist in a short scene!) Toxic Avenger III - The Last Temptation of Toxie was released in 1989 (also by Troma Entertainment) and boasted music composed and produced by Chris DeMarco based on music by Antonin Dvorak.
Selections from both CDs are on the playlists of many radio stations and podcasts in the US and around the world.
Currently residing in the Atlanta, Georgia area, Chris DeMarco has proven his mettle as a legitimate artist time and time again. From his glory days as a front man for the Island Records recording act Riff Raff, which he formed in 1977, to his contributions to the work of the legendary cadre of musicians he also calls friends, Chris DeMarco’s music and artistry has stood the test of time. Still in his musical prime, and uncompromising in his commitment to making excellent music, he is without a doubt the stuff legends are made of.
You can find Chris DeMarco’s Lost and Found on iTunes and Napster, among other sites, and the physical CD on can be purchased through CD Baby or Chris's official website. Chris DeMarco - The 80's is available from the official website and will soon be available on iTunes and from CD Baby.

Classic rock musician Chris DeMarco and The Chris DeMarco Band will open at one of Marietta's newest music venues, The Scene (2854 Delk Road on July 10 at 9 p.m.) In addition to vocals, DeMarco plays guitar and harmonica. Band members include Dell Bolos and Jerry Sorn on guitar, Reggie Dantzler on bass, Dave James on Keyboards and Brandon Thompson on drums. Price of admission is $10 in advance, $12 the night of the show. For advance tickets, visit www.chrisdemarco.com/store.html. The venue is for "all ages," but concertgoers over age 21 have the option of purchasing drinks by obtaining a colored bracelet.
DeMarco's interest in music began when he met and played with a small blues band while in school in Los Angeles.
When his sister married the bass player of Blood, Sweet and Tears, "I got to meet those guys and began thinking about a singing profession," says DeMarco. His musical career evolved, with a short interlude in acting, taking him to New York, Boston, Europe and back to L.A., where he connected with a who's who of people in the music industry.
The height of DeMarco's career came in the '70s and '80s. During this time he was the lead vocalist for the band Riff Raff.
DeMarco chose to leave the fast-paced life of a musician and settle in Cobb in 1994, after visiting a friend who lived in Kennesaw. He earned his real estate license and still sells in the Cherokee County community.
Five years ago, DeMarco suffered a serious illness close to the time that three of his musical contemporaries, Robert Palmer, Warren Zevon and Michael Kamen, died. "My children had grown up knowing 'my daddy was a musician' but never really having seen me in the days I was really doing it," explains the father of three. "They didn't know that part of me and I don't want to leave without doing something significant."
DeMarco produced his CD "Lost and Found," which "connects my older career to now," he said. Selections feature artists like Dick Wagner (Alice Cooper Band), Tommy Talton (Gregg Allman Band) and Kenny Mazur (Robert Palmer Band). Billy Joel and Michael Monarch (Steppenwolf) play on the bonus track "Sail Away."
His latest CD "Chris DeMarco - The '80s," is a collection of music recorded by DeMarco from 1980-85, working with musicians including Kenny Mazur, Bob Kulick and Doug Katsaros.
DeMarco's music can purchased on iTunes, Rhapsody and Napster or CDs at Amazon, CD Baby or his Web site. For more information, call Dreamco Music at (678) 860-4100 or e-mail dreamcomusic@yahoo.com.

| Tuesday, May 5th, 2009 2 Shows done, new t-shirt available! April 13 we had our first show at Smith’s Olde Bar in Atlanta. It was Monday after Easter, and there had been big storms all day so half the people had no power. There were not very many people there but the ones who came said they enjoyed the show. There are a couple of videos posted from that night (www.myspace.com/dreamcomusic and www.youtube.com/dreamcomusic ).
The following Saturday night (April 18) we played at Trilogy in Marietta to a crowd of about 120. It was a great night and nice to see so many friends, old and new, turn out to support the band. There’s a video from this show on www.youtube.com/dreamcomusic but the sound quality is not so good, there was a lot of ambient noise due to the amount of people in the audience.
A top-quality t-shirt by Bay Island Sportswear is now available at www.chrisdemarco.com/store.html and at gigs of course. This is a very soft, “slim fit” design that everyone likes so far.
Hope to see you (if you’re local to the Atlanta area) at TASTY WORLD in Athens, GA on Thursday, May 28 (9:30 pm). More gigs will be on the schedule soon!

| Sunday, March 1st, 2009 Songs played on FM Radio in Germany El Bruno included my music on his monthly show RUHRKULTUR on 107.7 FM Radio Hagen on Tuesday, December 23 at 9:00 pm local time in Germany. Hagen is a city located on the eastern edge of the Ruhr area, just south of Dortmund. I was able to listen in to the station's online streaming radio and noted that he played these three songs:
You're Not in Love (Chris DeMarco - The 80's)
Lost and Found (Lost and Found)
Falling Together (Chris DeMarco - The 80's)
I didn't understand much of the program of course, since I don't speak German, but I really appreciate being included!

DeMarco finds heart of classic rock ‘n’ roll
True rock aficionados will know Chris DeMarco. Unfortunately most won't. You should. He was a sought-after musician in the 70's and 80's. On his CD Lost and Found he has a who's who of rock artists helping out. It features Dick Wagner (Alice Cooper Band), Tommy Talton (Gregg Allman Band), Ken Mazur (Robert Palmer Band), Barry Richman (Skynyrd), Rhys Clark (Billy Joel) and Jim Fielder (Buffalo Springfield).
Back in 1977 Chris was the front-man for Riff Raff. In the day he was an important part of the Hollywood music scene. But he grew tired of the life, and has settled in Atlanta.
Lost and Found is a complex mix of the bluesy, "Out of the Blue," the arena-like Journey rock "Can't Go Home Again;" the quirkly story song "Love and Murder" to the sensitive, delicate cadence of "The Quiet of the Rain."
I especially liked the slow rocking "It's Inevitable" and the love ballad "When It's Gone."
If you like original rock, give Chris a try. You can get the CD from CD Baby or at www.chrisdemarco.com

| Wednesday, December 24th, 2008 New CD reviewed by RadioIndy! Chris DeMarco's most recent self titled release, "Chris DeMarco-The 80's" is an album that re-invents the upbeat classic pop rock music of that era. DeMarco, a seasoned veteran of music who has performed with various well known artists, has decided to debut his works originally recorded in the 1980's. These catchy pop styles are splashed with light lyrics over striking guitar riffs while keyboards add a touch of pop orchestration. DeMarco's vocals are melodic and rich, exhibiting his polished, strong and distinct voice. Note the high harmonies on "The Same Old Way" and also on "One More Shot." They are undoubtedly a staple of '80's pop. Rock-hard drums streaming with solid fills and edgy guitar licks reach well beyond their roots on "The Mirror." If you like music that captures the essence of 80's pop/rock, "Chris DeMarco-The 80's" is a CD well worth listening to.
