Yearning, thoughtfulness, and melancholy define the rock songs of singer and songwriter CHR!S.
Coming from the metal / hard rock scene, his own songs stand for catchy hooklines, feelings, and sensitivity.
Role models like David Bowie, U2, Pearl Jam, etc. have left their mark on the music of CHR!S without loosing track of his own authenticity. As a singer and guitarist for Born, CHR!S had no less than three single hits, rotation on many national radio stations, and placements in various airplay charts (e.g. "Ready for the Fall" at number 9 in November 2005).
After more than ten years in the music scene, CHR!S is making a dream come true by releasing his first solo EP. “I had collected a lot of songs I couldn’t do with my bands, and so I was very eager to finally release a work of my own (…)”, says CHR!S.
He adds: “It is very different to be totally self-reliant. You have to follow your gut more, and the only compromises you have to make are those you have to hash out with the producer and the label. (...)“
The EP «Open end» was recorded under the direction of the highly talented and creative producer Daniel Bukowski in the Pick-A-Back studios in Konz (D). He was able to capture and record the unique sound of CHR!S.
“I don’t reinvent the musical wheel, but I allow various influences to merge into a whole (…)” is how CHR!S describes his work.
“Never Be Free” will be the first single which will appear on the internet and on radio stations mid of November.
The EP will appear on December 01, 2006 under the newly founded label Get up music entertainment.
