Clara Lofaro is destined to become a household name as the buzz spreads about her music in Canada and the U.S. Armed with biting lyrics, hook-and-reel-you-in melodies, and sexy stage charisma, she’s sure to blow you away with just one listen. Don’t be fooled by her bravado, though. Lofaro is a genuine indie artist, remaining loyal to her roots while maintaining broad appeal with her simple formula of honest, good music.
Lofaro hails from Toronto, where she grew up honing her performance skills by competing in talent shows and appearing in school plays. As a child, she was very independent and creative, dabbling in poetry and experimenting on her piano and trombone. Her artistic talents later earned her admission to the prestigious Berklee College of Music, where she developed her vocal chops and recorded early tracks for her first album.
Lofaro has come a long way since her youth. She now runs her own independent label, ComeTrue Records, under which she released her self-produced sophomore masterpiece, “Black & Blue Pearl,” currently a top-seller on CD Baby. In 2006 alone, Lofaro was featured on the WB’s Video City and as Disney’s new voice for their Parks & Rec ad campaign. She was also chosen to perform on-site for the workers of ABC’s Extreme Home Makeover.
A musically versatile artist, she effortlessly transitions from self-penned infectious pop ditties to emotionally heavier songs during her live shows. In addition, she experiments with song variation and different singing styles, ambitiously striving to evolve with every show. Lofaro truly loves her hard-won fanbase, and each heartfelt performance is guaranteed to ensure they leave knowing it.
