coal chamber started in the spring of 1994 with a couple of kids with a dream. coal chamber quickly produced a demo, which got them a street name in LA. They played in clubs, bars ect, anywhere they could get a gig! After they were doing the rounds for a while they got a rahearsal in orange county (same time as unknown korn), it was a dark rehearsal!
later in 1995 Dino cazares of fear factory and producer ross robinson brought they attention of coal chamber to roadrunner VR of A&R who were amazed by their song loco! after being introduced coal chamber soon got a deal. times were hard at home for vocalist dez as his wife was getting fed up of the hours dez was doing and him spending to much time with band mates. this drove dez to quit the band! After 1/2 a year of being away from the band, bands guitarist meegs came round to dez and convinced him to rejoin the band, dez agreed to go back to coal chamber. By xmas 1995 their record deal was finally complete! the record company then insisted the band was to find a new member to complete coal chamber! not affraid of change the band soon put up a rehearsal in LA FOR A NEW BAND MEMBER. 1 NEW BAND MEMBER SOON TURNED TO, Two (jay gordon & jay baumgardner)two guys hungry for a big break!!
By the time NRG sessions were over the record company agreed jay & jay was what the band needed!
the album was long in progress but times were hard for the band as the day coal chamber started to recprd their album, dez's wife left him with no house or anything! this made the band realise that they trive on what they had and thats what drives them and thats what keeps it real.
their self-titled album coal chamber was later finished and released in february 11 1997!!
coal chamber are an amazing band and an inspiration to anyone!!
