| Corrosive Vengence was originally founded under the name of Retched by Bill Thorne, Mike Anarch Henry, Rick Schneller and John Thorne in the basement of Anarch's house. After several months of putting the music that we wanted together, the search went out for a front man. After several attemps at finding the right voice to express our music, we were about to give up. Then at a concert at the Alrosa Villa in columbus, ohio, Rick bumped into a old high school buddy named Phil Yates. Phil said he was interested in trying out for the band. After the first audition, they knew that it was his voice that we had been looking for. As of Febuary 25, 1995, Retched made its debut at Brezzer's lounge in columbus, ohio. Then the shows started lining up with one small problem, it started with the radio miss pronouncing our name and people were coming to see a rock band named ratched or the punk band named rancid. It was then Corrosive Vengence was born, and it hasn't been the same since. Shows were coming one after another. More and more people were getting a taste of our aggressive groove metal style of music and bodies were a flying. We have opened up for quite a few national acts such as S.O.D., Sataryicon, Skin Lab, Crowbar, Morbid Angel, Krision, Iced Earth, Internal Bleeding, Agent Steel, L.A. Guns, Angel Corpse and so on. Then problems began to arise in the summer of 2000. Lead guitarist Bill Thorne starting losing interest in the music and band. For several months the band tried to get Bill back on the wagon with no avail. March 2001 Bill left the band for personal reasons unclear to the rest of us in Corrosive Vengence. Then the hunt was on, enter Larry Stith the new guitarist for Corrosive Vengence, also a big fan of the bands material. In a matter of a month of practicing we were out playing again with new songs and ideas. We are all strongly devoted to playing our music, and would rather do nothing else than play for a living. That is our dream and goal. |
