Craig Ashley David was born on May 5, 1981 in Southampton, England. Growing up, he loved music and was highly influenced by R&B and Reggae. As a teenager, he performed on the local radio station, PCRS 106.5FM. He then began doing shows at local clubs. He soon met Mark hill, a member of Artful Dodger. Hill was impressed with David’s version of Damage’s “I’m ready,” and Human League’s “Human.” David’s own song, “Rewind,” soon became an underground hit as well as his single, “Fill Me In.” The single, ‘Fill me In,” became number one during the summer of 2000 in Britain. At only 19 years old, David had become Britain’s youngest male solo artist with a number one single. He soon signed to Windstar Records. His next single, “7 Days,” also became a smash hit .David’s debut album, Born To Do It, did very well. Scandal hit Craig David in February 2001, however. He had been nominated six times for the 2000 British Music Awards. These nominations included: Best British Male Solo Artist, best British Newcomer, and Best British Single (for “7 days”). The academy, however, snubbed the artist in all sic categories. People were outraged. Celebrities such as Elton john, U2, and Robbie Williams expressed their disgust at the inside politics that were being played. Later that year, Craig David was plagued with death threats. At one concert, in particular, during a spring show in 2001 a anonymous caller said that David would be injured by a soldier throwing tear gas and hand grenades at him while he performed on stage. David ignored the threats, and continued performing. Meanwhile, Born To Do It, continued to sell records. David soon got a deal with Atlantic Records to distribute the album in America. In the summer of 2001, Born to Do It was released in the United States. The album immediately received mainstream acclaim. Artists such as Missy Elliot, usher, and Beyonce Knowles were all saying that they were huge fans of Craig David. In November 2002, David released his sophomore album entitled Slicker Than Your Average. The album’s single, ‘What’s your Flavor?” became a pop hit.

ATTN CRAIG DAVID FANS Hello!!!! I’m a HUGE music fan just like you!!! I know that I hate getting emails that are un-related to the groups I’ve joined, but I have come to my fellow music fans for help with something....
I am not sure if you have heard Guy Sebastian. But I am here to introduce what Guy Sebastian music is all about.
So here it goes...
One of Australia's most loved artists Guy Sebastian returns with his brilliant new album 'Beautiful Life', set to establish Guy as a bonafide STAR!! Released in October 2004, 'Beautiful Life' has already passed Platinum sales here in Oz and spawned two massive smash hits - 'Out With My Baby' (which scored an MTV AVMA for Best Pop Video) and 'Kryptonite' - with a third well and truly shaping up with his scorching new single 'Oh Oh'.
'Beautiful Life' was written and recorded over six months in several different cities including LA, Stockholm, London, Melbourne and Sydney, with numerous distinguished writers, producers and artists contributing, including Damon Elliott (Beyonce, Pink), Bloodshy & Avant (Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Janet Jackson), Brian McKnight (Boyz II Men), Robyn Thicke ('Out With My Baby' and 'When I Get You Alone'), as well as US R&B diva Mya, who duets with Guy on the slow-burning 'Forever With You'.
This fourteen-track album, which in the main part Guy co-wrote and also co-produced, offers fans a true insight into emarkable talent of Guy Sebastian. A stunning testament to his musical vision, 'Beautiful Life' is an exhilarating trip, Guy's unique voice flirting and soaring over soulful ballad, funked-up upbeat grooves and a whole heap of R&B flavoured pop hits, for an amazing journey from the dance floor to the bedroom to life's highway and back again.
Guys debut single 'Angels Brought Me Here' became the highest selling Australian single of all time in 2003 and his debut album 'Just As I Am' has gone on to sell more than six times Platinum in Oz!!
