Crisis was formed in 1993 by guitarist Afzaal Nasiruddeen, drummer Fred Waring, and bassist Gia Chuan Wang. Shortly after they recruited singer Karyn, who became known as Karyn Crisis. In 1994 they released their 8 Convulsions L.P. In 1996 they released their first full length recording, Deathshead Extermination, the brutality and lyrics had never before been heard from such a band, especially a female fronted band. The metal underground changed considerably after the release of Deathshead Extermination. In 1997 the band released The Hollowing and the same was true of this release. The brutality and lyrics were incredible. But the band wasn't heard from again until 2001 when they announced they would be known as Skullsick Nation. After only about a year of being Skullsick Nation they once again became Crisis with the joining of guitarist Jywanza Hobson. Their newest offering Like Sheep Led to Slaughter is one of the greatest metal albums of 2004 and needs to be heard if you're a metal fan.
