| From the day the ebony and ivory tickled her small, fragile, three year old fingers, she was hooked. She found her source of undying love, passion, and commitment. McRae’s melodic and soulful music has touched audiences all across the United States. She has a way of grabbing you out of your seat and putting you into her shoes while she’s on stage. McRae has worked with producer and engineer, Chopper Black, who has engineered albums for Yanni, Paula Abdul, Jazzmine Guy and many others. McRae has written with Kevin Bowe, who has written with Etta James, Jonny Lang, Lynard Skynnard, and Kenny Wayne Sheppard. “When Crista sings, it’s like Janis Joplin’s ghost being filtered through Mary J Blige’s beat-box,” says Kevin Bowe. One of McRae’s songs, “Everyday Angel,” is featured in the movie, “Katerskill Falls,” which has aired on Showtime and the Sundance channel. McRae was also featured on the program, “Right on the Money.” The program touched on the lives of four different independent artists and aired nationally in April of 2003. Crista graduated with an Associates Degree in Music Business at Musictech College in August of 2003. Crista was raised in St. Paul, Minnesota and has been involved with music since a very young age. She started out with piano and violin when she was very young. She didn’t write her own songs until she stumbled upon a guitar when she was sixteen and hasn't stopped since then.
