| D-Shokk a.k.a. Darnell Brown was born July, 10 1982 in Kansas City, Missouri. Introduced to music at a young age by his musician father, Darnell began to cultivate his love for music. At the age of 13 his interest in rap began to grow as he listened to tapes of Slick Rick and Method Man, and he became the local freestylin’ kid that you find in almost every neighborhood across America. However, with Darnell there something was different; he began mixing Jazz, Soul, and Pop in his songs creating a unique sound. After graduating high school, he made the difficult decision to leave home and join the military. While serving in the Marines, he continued working towards his music dreams between his deployments to Iraq. Upon his return from his last deployment, he moved to Seattle, Washington. D-Shokk then connected with another local rapper creating the group Undeniable. In September 2004 Undeniable got their biggest big break when D-Shokk wrote the Seattle Seahawks theme song which received hundreds of spins on Seattle’s radio station Kube 93. Working on their album D-Shokk co-wrote over 30 songs, leading to the release of their debut album entitled “Mirage” on August 18th, 2005 by SonicWave International. Unfortunately, creative differences caused the group to disband. Despite this set-back, D-Shokk is now pursuing a solo career. He moved to Los Angeles, California prepared to give the hip-hop world “The Greatest Show on Earth” in the form of his solo album. Currently D-Shokk is in the studio recording his album, working with several modeling agencies, and auditioning for an upcoming television series. |
