| Donnie “D.A.” Ambrocio was born in a rural province of Bataan, Philippines. There, he cultivated a love of music and the celebration of it through local town fiestas and talent shows. This played a vital role in how he creates music today. His family moved to Korea for a year before finally settling down in Columbia, South Carolina. The south exposed him to a wide variety of music which influenced his song writing. From Guns n’ Roses and Metallica to 2pac, he developed a unique sound that defines Effennel Records and its members.
He started playing guitar at 16, wrote his first song, and the rest is history. He had a five year stint in the military but never stopped writing. His songs reflected life experiences and his early recordings fed the hunger for creativity and experimentation with sound. After he got out the Army, he joined and started a couple of rock bands that helped mold his versatility. But it was a few years later that he finally settled on the sound that separates him from all others. With his mediocre instrumental knowledge and an ear for writing catchy riffs, he combined and applied both acoustic and computer technology in music production and writing. His serenading guitar riffs, romantic and controversial lyrics, and spicy dance mixes reflect the broad musical creativity he possesses. This Filipino Boy wants to conquer it all.
