Dale Everett writes simple songs about complex things: love, family, home. Phrases turn, emotions connect, and melodies soar. “Wonderful Life”. You sing along even though you've never heard the tune before. Dale writes from a perspective of distances, of interludes between yesterday and today, lives and the roads that lead from small towns to big cities.
He writes with authority on these subjects. You see, he really has “been there and done that”.
Dale’s musical career began in the honky-tonks and bars of his native Washington State. Soon, he joined a popular touring band from Spokane Washington named Applejack. It wasn’t long until the group was playing everywhere this side of the Mississippi, and opening for such notables as Joe Walsh, Tower of Power and rock heavyweights, REO Speedwagon.
Since 2003, Dale has concentrated on writing his special style of Alt. Country blended with a Bluegrass edge. He incorporates the Mandolin along with a more electric guitar driven sound. The result is an interesting mix, and the songs cover a variety of subjects and studies as diverse as the Civil War seen from both sides to riding the rails in America to a coal miner’s last tribute.
Robert Carlson wrote in “Ragin' Country Online”:
“Dale Everett is helping to define the sound of today’s New Southern Americana”
Barbara Cloyd, host of Nashville’s Bluebird Café writers’ nights said this:
“This song has some GREAT lines in it, contemporary and commercial. Great Job”
-2004, about the song “Ain’t in Kansas Anymore”-
The new CD “Grange Hall Testimony” is dedicated to all who have played countless Saturday night dances in countless halls across America, and contains the 2003 single release from AMI Records Nashville, “Wonderful Life” as well as the new single, “Ain’t in Kansas Anymore”
