| The Dark were a punk band from Islington in London, formed in 1978. Their local punk heroes were Menace, who The Dark had a long association with. Core members were Phil Langham, Andy Riff, Jim Kane, Jim Bryson, Razzle, & sometimes Menace members Charlie Casey and Noel Martin. They gigged regularly in London, released a number of single that charted in the indie charts and an album 'Chemical Warfare' on Fresh Records (produced by Cuddly Toys Sean Purcell & Tony Baggett).
Langham went on to join and produce Action Pact, manage Turkey Bones & The Wild Dogs, and set up the Cherry Red label's Anagram Records, signing Alien Sex Fiend amongst others. He died of a drug overdose aged 27. Drummer Razzle joined Hanoi Rocks and died in a car accident in December 1984. |
