| The Backbone (short for "feedback trombone") is the creation of Dave Tohir and Scott Vance, both members of the Anything Goes Orchestra (BRD 006 / BRD 009) and IDLH (BRD 010). The sound of the Backbone is reminiscent of guitar feedback but with the pitch range and slipperyness of the trombone. It's also unpredictable, noisy, and sometimes downright ugly! The music is at times ambient, with a filmic quality. |
