Friday 13th is usually a date to avoid. But DAVESRADiO are setting aside their superstitions this July and releasing their fantastic second single "Don't preach to me" on that very date. It's backed with live favorite "Sound I Felt" and is the perfect follow-up to their recent Top 20 hit.
"Kids was a great debut single for us", according to Dave, "It was a top 20 and got our name out there. But we feel now its time to step things up, and both Don't Preach to me and Sound I Felt are all what DAVESRADiO are about". The highly anticipated single is set to extend an already growing fan base and is setting the scene for the long awaited debut album "U-turn", which is due out in early 2008.
The band, a three-piece featuring David Peyton on vocals/guitar, Rob Maguire on bass and Brian Lynch on drums, have spent the last year building up a fan base by touring extensively around the country with the likes of Avril Lavigne, The Frames, Shane MacGowan, Republic of loose, The Blizzards, and at The Electric Picnic which paid off when "Kids" went Top 20 in February this year. With driving bass and a ferocious rhythm section, David's soaring voice and melodic playing, critics have described the band as " blisteringly intense and fiercely energetic"/ "these chaps produce unrelenting energy with melodic intensity". Having worked in the past with the likes of Steve Osbourne (New Order, Placebo, KT Tunstall), DAVESRADiO are ones to watch out for this summer.
When asked if they are concerned about releasing "Don't Preach to me" on Friday the 13th? "No, we tend to make our own luck, in this game, you have to! Besides we rehearse in a haunted castle". So don't be afraid to check out DAVESRADiO this July!
"Don't preach to me" is released on Friday 13th July and is available in all good record shops (Limited to 500 copies) and as a download from iTunes, Downloadmusic.ie, Outersounds.ie and Cdworld.ie. The band will embark on a nationwide tour coinciding with the single release.
