I am David Bonner, a singer/songwriter from London in the UK, and have lots of my own songs I want to share with you, if you would be so kind as to have a listen.
They were all recorded at home in 2005 and 2006 on a digital mini studio. It would be good to find out which songs people like the most, assuming you like any, that is !!! I do hope so :0)
As well as the vocals, I also played all the instruments myself, mainly guitars, bass, and a bit of keyboards here and there. I must admit it was hugely enjoyable to produce these recordings, and it's the first time I've ever really had the chance to do so, for one reason or another.
Certain songs, such as e.g. The Earth Below and a few others were actually written in the mid-1990's, but many of the songs on this webpage were written much more recently.
I also have a lot more other songs which I wrote in the mid-90's, you know how it is though, and I'm a little keener on the more recent stuff myself at the moment, so that's why I've included a lot of it. Having said that, I will add a few of the older (for me, but new for you!) songs from time to time, and I'll generally try to keep varying the line up of songs and keep the page active.
I will certainly be doing some live concerts in the future in the UK, but at the moment I am into trying to see what I can do with the internet, now it's so easy to upload MP3's to a site such as this.
I've had a look at a few other sites, but none seem so user-friendly as isound.com so far. Hey, I'd so love to play some concerts in the USA too one day, but I guess that'll have to wait a while!
Thank you very much for visiting my page, and please make sure you visit regularly, and look out for new songs which I'll add and change around as we go along. If you like my songs, all favourable ratings are appreciated. Also, please feel free to contact me, I'll do my best to respond asap :0)

Here are the lyrics to a few of the songs, I'll add the rest once I've typed them on the PC!

Unbelievable Life
Beautiful life, this is, with its sun-filled days
And - those passioned nights - and
All the times when love and warmth were staying your town
Did I forget to mention they’d be moving on sometime?
And that the Winter wind would blow its frozen breath into this place?
And sometimes everyone can feel alone -
Sometimes everyone, can feel alone
And if you cry - just lean on me
Don’t be afraid to let it go - it doesn’t mean that you’re not strong
If you cry - it’s just water flowing downstream in your soul
It's only water flowing downstream in your soul
Unbelievable life, this is, I wouldn’t change it for the world and
It’s such a priceless gift, just to stay alive
And live some more of this amazing journey
But I have to mention there will be hard times - along the way -
To lose the ones we love
And sometimes feel alone -
Sometimes everyone can feel alone
And if you cry - just lean on me
Don’t be afraid to let it go - it doesn’t mean that you’re not strong
If you cry - it’s just water flowing downstream in your soul
It's only water flowing downstream in your soul

My Old Ways
Here I stand, stuck in my old ways
When will I find the strength to change – change
Well I know – there’s many things that I should do
I’ll get round to bit it’s – so hard to find the time – hard to find the time – oh oh
It’s hard to find the time you know when –
I’ve got all these other things on my mind
A daydream and a thousand sunny days
And a deep blue cloudless sky and -
The wonderful life that’s waiting for me
One day I won’t stop believing
Come back down to Earth you tell me
Come and take a dose of this reality
If there was a Heaven – it would know
Just how much – I have tried to change – change
Beautiful dark eyes that light up the night
Reflecting the blue sky in the back of your mind
Try as you might you can’t stop yourself smiling
With your boat drifting on on the waves now
Come back down to Earth you tell me
Come and take a dose of this reality
If there was a Heaven – it would know
Just how much – I have tried to change – change

Sunshine Girl
She was no girl for all seasons
No – she only loved the summer Sun
Listing and losing all her reasons
To rise with the Sun
Winter was so long, the evenings so dark
As was the inside of her cold and black heart
Summer Sun, where were you when she needed you
You could have raised up a smile once again
Instead now she’s gone, and she’s drifting along
On the line of some far flung and distant new horizon
In the back of my mind – in the back of my mind
She said don’t worry for me – don’t shed a tear
I was never destined to grow old – if I did
How could I have danced on the
Clouds in the moonlight for you - like I do?
So just think of me – at this time of year
As the copper-coloured light of the Autumn sun
Is licking the walls of your hallway – think of me
It was love, the love I felt for her
Was so pure – I could never touch her
Never kiss those perfect lips, thought they were mine there
For the taking all the time, I know
And no-one else could know her like I did
And no-one else could read her like I did
I have lived long enough to know the truth
As time keeps flying by my window in the starlit sky
And you know what’s good for me, and so do I
And I have travelled far and wide enough
To recognise the signs, feel the comfort now
That something good will come my way
We have been deep enough below the surface
Of the things that shine and dazzle the unwary eye
And you know what I like and so do I
We can sail across the oceans, in the sunshine all eternity
And after time is gone, love will still be there, carry on

| Sunday, June 21st, 2009 TV shows etc You know what I would really love to do? It would be to appear on the Jools Holland show on the BBC or other similar shows, and do an acoustic set of some of my songs. Or I guess any other high profile TV show. Has anyone got Jools' email address?
;-)
I'd also love to play on any US TV music shows, if anyone has any contacts or suggestions! My songs do sound nice just with a semi-acoustic and vocals...

| Saturday, June 13th, 2009 Paying the bills etc I think the hardest thing is having to do a day job and pay all the bills etc, and I never seem to get time to devote to my beloved music. I wish I could get into a proper studio, and do all the songs again, especialy the singing, but I don't have the funds available at the moment. Never mind, I will always keep aiming to do that, and I'm sure I will in the not too distant future. I've done alot of live singing since I recorded these songs on my mini-studio at home, so the singing will be much improved. I will never stop believing in my music, and I feel that one day I will fulfil the potential of these songs. I've got lots of other songs too, but the place I live now it's hard to get enough silence to record - I am trying to get back onto it though. DB ;-)

| Sunday, February 3rd, 2008 Hello there Hello to anyone who visits my pages. Sorry I haven't added new content for quite a long time - it's because I have been very sick! Anyway, I have made a full recovery (touch wood!) and I am feeling alot better now. I hope to be writing some new songs in the not too distant future. Thank you very much to anyone who listens to my music, I really appreciate it ;0)

| Thursday, July 6th, 2006 New track: Out of My Bass Just a quick note to say I have added a new track I laid down a few months back, "Out of My Bass". It's actually an instrumental, and hopefully a bit of a dance tune. I do like a wide range of music, and this is an example of some other styles I like playing. Hope someone likes it...
I know I haven't been very active with the music recently, but let's just say I've had a few unexpected problems to deal with in the last few months or so. I promise I will get back onto the music as soon as I can. There are still lots of other songs I've never uploaded here yet, so I'll try to put some of those on when I get a chance.... best wishes, DB
