De2 BIOGRAPHY
Fusing elements of the rock, hip-hop, hardcore and funk music next to the Latin music's roots and the Colombian folklore, are born in December of 1998 De2 intruding in the scene of the new Colombian rock managing an explicit concept that reflects the problem of the Latin American youths before the difficulties with those that face in their daily one to live.
The band throws in 1999 its first demo (para andar / to walk) debuting in the local radio stations with great acceptance of the means and the scene rocker from Bogotá; for the year 2000 prepare their followers with their second demo (El game abajo / The game below) with which is positioned like one of the bands but important and taken a risk in the scene of the new Colombian metal.
It is summed up at the beginning of the year 2001 the recording of their first album (Historias From Latin Barrios… And Other Special Things About Latinoamerika / Tales from Latin neighborhoods... And Other Special Things About Latinoamerika) with the one that surpasses all the expectations that arose around their production.
The year 2002 begin very well for De2; after a selection process where they are presented but of 450 bands of the whole country, the band is selected to participate in the one compiled of rock & Colombian pop music (Se Busca / Wanted) of the discography company Universal Music Colombia, project that gathers and it impels the best and but important representatives of these musical goods in Colombia.
Highlighted for it criticizes it in the main specialized means of the country the band it begins the "Corona Tour” for some of the main Colombian cities as Medellín, Cali, Bucaramanga, Ibagué, Villavicencio, Pereira and Armenia where it consolidates its proposal and forcefulness in scene before a growing one I number from fans to the long and wide of the country.
Presented beside groupings so important like a Molotov and Cartel de Santa (Mexico), Catupecu Machu and Carajo (Argentina), Eminence and Korzus (Brazil), Immér Fort (Spain), Dracma (Chile), Muscaria (Ecuador), Monstrosity (USA), La Pestilencia & Superlitio (Colombia) among other, De2 prepares its second album (No Radical No Subliminal) which leaves to the market at the end of the 2004, contains 14 new tracks in a deluxe edition, interactive material with its two Video clips and an exclusive interview.
Their first video clip of the song "Money" this rotating in the main Colombian musical channels and for the channel LATIN MTV. The band finishes the year 2003 achieving the biggest score in the examining jury for the ninth version from the festival Rock to the Park and participating in convocations carried out by the Ministry of Culture of Colombia (it Works unpublished rock 2003) and the National Museum of Colombia (Exhimus 2003).
Year 2004, De2 arrives as band invited outstanding distrait to the Tenth version from the Festival Rock to the Park as well as nominated to better band of national Metal in The SHOCK Magazine Awards 2004 and to song of the year of the portal of colombian rock Tricolrock.com with the simple ones "Money" & "Simple Things". Its second Video clip of the song "1 Seg." which contains animations of the National School of Cartoon will be in programming in the main musical channels inside of and outside of Colombia.
In 2005 the band is presented in one of the theaters more important of their city (Jorge Eliécer Gaitan) and it leaves Colombia for the first time representing it in the third festival of independent music QUITO FEST 2005 (www.quitofest.com).
