| The Debutantes are an NYC post-pop metro-dance-punk band unlike anyone else playing in New York today. They perform a "mammoth set list done in a little over 30 minutes, as dual vocalists Abby and Jaime blitzkrieg through their shimmery pop ditties with a relish and enthusiastic aplomb that is downright infectious and grin-inducing." (Jenyk.com)
Hannan writes catchy, infectious songs, and sings them the way Liz Phair would if she'd had a happier childhood. Her voice and guitar-playing are complemented by Fallon's vocal harmonies and melodic leads, and the XY rhythm section of Coleman and Minter keep the songs on the dance floor. The Debutantes have been together for a little over a year, playing extensively around New York (Knitting Factory, Sin-e, Pianos, Rothko, etc).
"This is what a band would sound like if I had a magic potion for best-all-around anytime danceable music." (Fear of Music)
