Final line up changes before Defcon returns to the studio in November: As some of you may know the band will once again be entering the studio in November and December to record the follow up to the Cold War EP. The new CD entitled Everlasting Flames, also to be released on Choke Chain Records, will feature an even newer line up than previously announced as Alkala and Drug have returned to their band Project Apocalypse, Defcon 666 now features Jack Masters (formerly of 2nd System) on drums. Also rejoining the band is founding member Tyg on vocals who returns after a lengthy absence but sounds stronger and more hellish than ever. As guitarist Zamiel commented to me over the weekend new drummer Jack is fitting in the band quite nicely and has picked up the songs quicker than expected keeping their goal of returning to the studio right on track. The band once again will be returning to the stage in between recording sessions starting in November.
Defcon 666 have signed a 3 record deal with Choke Chain Records. We would like to thank Bob Colton and everyone at Choke Chain Records for the opportunity, together we shall crush. The first recording, the EP "Cold War" is now available through Choke Chain off their web site at ChokeChainRecords.com
We are sorry for the lack of news, things have been crazy but we do have bad news and good news. First the bad news we are sorry to announce that drummer Krucifier is no longer with Defcon due to personal reasons, we wish him the best of luck for the future and now for the good news, we are pleased to welcome aboard Doug Cook and Sonny "ALKALA" Alcala formerly of the band Project Apocalypse to the Defcon line up. Doug will take over on drums and Sonny will be on guitar.
The band continues to write new music for the next CD which should be out in early 2006. I recently spoke with guitarist Zamiel who informed that the new material is dark and very emotional without sacrificing the brutal edge that drives the bands aggressive style. He also informed that the band will soon start booking shows after they have a few more new songs written and Defcon looks forward to getting back on the stage to unleash their chaotic dark symphony.
Defcon will be performing live on March 26th with an onslaught of Michigan black metal with Project Apocalypse and Summon. Check the Live Shows section of the website for more information. The March 4th show at The Captains Cove has been cancelled due to the venue being sold to new owners.
The new website is launched on 01.19.2005 and the band formally announces the return of vocalist/guitarist Tyg to the line-up. Defcon have several new songs written for their upcoming recording sessions in Spring of 2005. They will also be contributing a brand new song to the forthcoming Michigan Metal Compilation Vol. I
