Deliberate popsongs, modern American rock sound and a punkrock twist now and then. Destine songs have straight from the heart melodies, but most of all some really catchy hooks.
Robin van Loenen – 20 years and student at the Rock Academy in Tilburg, The Netherlands – is Destine. From when he is 10 years old he spends his days playing in bands as guitarist, drummer, bass player and singer; but mainly as a songwriter. During high school, he is active in the punkrock-scene in which he plays about 100 shows in the Netherlands and Belgium. Looking for a new sound, a new challenge and creative freedom, he is ready for something new.
The first half of 2006 is spent writing songs and results in the ‘A Dozen Dreams EP’. All instruments and the production are taken care of by van Loenen himself. The EP has been mastered by Martijn Groeneveld, well-known of Solo, A Balladeer and Face Tomorrow.
Destine tries to bend the benefits of the ever-evolving music industry his way: the entire EP is downloadable for free on the website www.destine.nl.
Destine’s live band will hit the stage in spring 2007.
