As a young man, Dierks Bentley grew up in Phoenix, Arizona. He was born November 20, 1975 and came from a non-musical family. His mother, whose maiden name was Dierks, helped instill in him a belief in God. Episodes of Hee Haw and country on his dad\\\'s radio exposed him to the world of country music during a time that most of the youth\\\'s of America were being exposed to Rock music and disco.
When he was seventeen, Dierks was introduced to Hank Williams, Jr\\\'s music by a friend. That was when it all \\\'clicked\\\' for him and he realized that his path lay in the world of country music.
After that, it was his hard work ethic and hours of researching old songs and lyrics at his job at The Nashville Network that helped him to finally get noticed by the men at Capitl Nashville.
The rest, you could say, is pretty much history. In the past few years, he\\\'s produced 3 fast-selling albums that have each spawned major hits for him. In his first year as major label act, he and his band, called The Terminally Lonesome Band, spent more than 300 days on the road.
Since that time, he and his guys are still the hardest working group in country music, but he\\\'s found time to enjoy the finer things in life. On December 17, 2005, he married his high school sweetheart, Cassidy Black.
Even today, you can find him honoring his roots with his \\\"High Times and Hangovers\\\" Tour that has become almost a yearly ritual for him and another group called Cross Canadian Ragweed.
It just goes to show you that not even fame and good fortune can make some people turn their backs on their roots. |
