| Danny DiLorenzo has lived his life to the beat of his own drum since he was born, teaching himself to play guitar and keyboards at age eleven. "I was a friendless loner, watching movies and listening to music in my room all day". And listen and study all types of great music he did. He got a hand-me-down acoustic when he was eleven and so began his musical career. He has always gravitated towards the more thought provoking, complex artists such as Lou Reed and Frank Zappa for influence, and at times may be overly adimant in his desire to break ground and be different. He has played in several bands in the last five years including Gothic and classic rock, and has worked on several hip hop projects. As a result, all styles of music seem to manifest themselves at times through Danny's unique musicical perception. Perfectionism is a result of Danny's obsessive compulsiveness, which he explains is no detriment. "It's a good thing, my overactive mind. It keeps the melodies and sounds coming".
Maria, "Niamy" (pronounced Nee-me) DiLorenzo has been singing and writing songs since age eight, participating in nation wide choral competitions and performing in community actor playhouses. She's worked as a session singer for several singer songwriters and bands, and has done jingle work for California radio. She was also the other half in the independently successful sister duo Elan. Elan being more of an R&B act,Niamy welcomed a change into a deeper, more rock based sound. She vocally and lyrically delivers showing range and enthusiasm with humor and intensity that seems fresh amidst the generic, familiar sound of today’s music, and is a perfect compliment to her eccentric musical partner.
This dynamic duo seem to have something to prove, and a desire to make you enjoy the trip. Just check- any live performance, whether intimate acoustic, or full band. Not your average fair.
Danny, as well as Niamy, explore other mediums of art including writing, acting and producing original short films. |
