Discharge was formed in Birmingham , England. This 1970-1980s group was created in 1977 with Terry ‘Tezz’ Roberts (singer) and his twin brother, Tony ‘Bones’ Roberts (guitar). The twins started a band with friends, Roy ‘Rainy’ Wainwright (bass) and Hacko on drums. In the 1980s, Hacko left the group and Tezz became the drummer. Discharge then recruited Cal to be their lead singer and front man. Discharge was playing during an era when musicians refused to give their real or full name to the press. The group soon signed to Clay records. Their debut EP, Realities of War, was released in March 1980. They soon released another EP entitled, Fight Back.. Then Discharge released an EP entitled Decontrol. Soon after, Tezz left the band and a temporary drummer, Bambi, took his spot. Bambi, however, was soon replaced by drummer Garry Maloney. In 1988, Discharge released New Again. The album also featured a new guitarist to the group. Discharge has been the inspiration to rock outfits such as Metallica and Guns N’ Roses.
