if you like DISHVEVELED you'll love JIM MASON AND THE DREADED BUBBLES. Disheveled is a fictional rock band formed by journeyman bassist Jim Mason. After accepting a scholarship to play upright bass at the University of Cincinnati , Jim would play bass with anybody and anything, including a 5 year stint with Robin Lacy and Dezydeco.
In 1997 Jim decided to retire from the gig scene and move to the country. Although it wasn't his intention to get involved with music again, songs would come to him so he decided to record them. Jim asked his old Cincinnati buddies to help him with the recording, including Ricky Nye and Brian Lovely, and so Disheveled was born and the album was completed in the year 2000.
The picture on the front and back cover of Jim's c.d. were taken in southern Ashland county in Ohio, where he lived in an abandoned farm house for two years (The inspiration for the song "Ashland"). What was the most exciting thing he saw while he lived there?: an amish buggy weaving down the road while blearing Van Halen's "drop dead legs" from a boom box. (are they allowed to do that?)
his new band JIM MASON AND THE DREADED BUBBLES can be heard on isound also. |
