DJ Muzik-AL is one of the Southeast's premier dance music DJs and he has an obvious passion & love for entertaining. Born in 1961 in Brighton, UK, this DJ doesn't just spin vinyl, CD's and anything else he can lay his hands on, he puts on a complete show as well.
It all started in the early 70's when he helped a friend produce a show on Southland's Hospital Radio in Worthing called "Anything Goes!" and by the time he was 16 not only had his record collection grown but he had all the basic equipment to go out as a mobile DJ.
Over the last 30 years he has played at all sorts of venues at all sorts of locations, playing all sorts of music. "Really, if you can dance to it, I'll spin it" he says.
After dashing from one gig to another and surviving a near fatal car crash in 1995 he decided to take semi retirement by cutting down on the number of gigs he was playing at every year. Instead he has been concentrating on a number of projects including the production of 4x80min CD sets featuring over 150 unsigned electronic artists worldwide.
Over the last 10 years AL has been also designing his working studio where every wall, ceiling and floor has been painstakingly painted in minute detail using fluorescent paints (goto website for pics) "Most of my friends think it's a mini nightclub around here and they are not far wrong. The artwork is designed to get you high without being on drugs" he says and for anyone that has been to his studio will say, it works! He calls it 'The WOW Factor'
You can find around 30 of his dance sets streamed over the net along from gigs he's played at since 1992 and during the last few years has started to produce his own music as well. He's had some success already with "Latino Vibe" which was made soon after Sept. 11th and was produced to cheer everyone up. "I wanted to make a track that had lots of energy and lots of 'the-feel-good-factor' and I wanted to make a track that would appeal to a commercial audience" he says. "It's a cross between Ricky Martin & The Irish Pogues sounding like a live jam session using anything from steel drums, pots & pans, a few trumpets and a guitar."
Taken from his CD entitled '10 Reasons To Dance', 'Latino Vibe' has so far topped the No.1 slot in 2 online music web sites both at Soundclick & MP3.com Austrailia and has also been used during a fashion show in The USA and also featured in a Texan Tortea TV advert.
