Donna received her Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from the University of North Texas and her Master of Music degree at Cleveland Institute of Music.
A captivating performer, Donna Chung has appeared in principal and secondary roles with the Denton Light Opera, Chicago Opera Theatre and CAAB of Evanston. Her international performances have included oratorio and engagements as soprano soloist with Länsmusiken in Sweden and with the Bavarian Archdiocese in Germany. Donna has had the honor to work with conductors such as Carl Topilow, Carl Ratner, Cecilia Rydinger-Alin, Magnus Sundman, Andreas Wimmer, Martina Thoma, Curt Dahlquist, Jan Eyron, David Syrus and Bruce Hangin.
Donna has portrayed such demanding coloratura roles as “the Queen of the Night” in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte; “Juliette” in Gounod’s Romeo et Juliette; “Najade” in Strauss’s Ariadne auf Naxos and “Madame Herz” in Mozart’s Der Schaulspieldirektor.
Donna Chung’s oratorio and symphonic presentations include a wide-range of repertoire from Bach, Handel, Haydn, Mozart, Faure, Orff, Schubert, and Schumann to Vivaldi. She loves teaching privately and directing master classes when called upon.
Originally from a large family in the small farm town of Tulia, Texas, Donna Chung knew that her life's passion was singing and with wonderful mentors, overcame great odds to attend college and to further her education in music.
