Ray Manzarek, keyboards, Jim Morrison, vocals; with drummer John Densmore and guitarist Robby Krieger put together created opne of the most influential and entertaining bands in the 60's. The band never included a bassiat cause of Ray's organ. In 1966 the band sighed to Elektra records and released their first album that followed with the single "Light My Fire" in 1967. The album was very successful. With Morrison's poetic lyrics and chilling voice mixed with the pop/electric sound of the music the band was sure to go far. With their album being such a big hit it was hard to match. Morrison kept exspirimenting but soon found the fans wanting the older sound. By this time they had their 3rd album out. Soft parade was out next. Using brass insruments the band got mixed results. Some saying they were "underground pop sellouts" . They then went back to their blues-ish music ,especially "L.A Women" in 1971. While their music was greagt Morrison could never quite keep out of trouble. Their first concert in Miami Korrison was arrested for indecent exsposer. But they kept producing music. In 1971 Morrison died, appartly over a drug overdose. Even while the band is gone the music and Morrison has lived on till today with movies like "The Doors" and books about Morrison and The Doors. They produced about 7 albums during the bands life.
